Chapter 13 - The Reason

“Dad! Um… HI!” I awkwardly said. I felt like a student drug dealer that was just caught by her teacher.

“Who is this man?” My father said formally. He sounded so serious though he isn’t that strict. He was a fun kind of dad.

“Um… Dad , this is Lee. Lee, my father.” I introduced them to each other. They both shook each other’s hand firmly. The tension….

“Lee Pace, sir.” Lee said as their hand shake came to an end. Dad didn’t give a reply after that. My brother came inside and I greeted him with a big hug.

“You’ve grown!” he said proudly and messed my hair.

“We saw each other a month ago.” I said yet he just gave a shrug.

“Hi. I’m Lee. Lee Pace.” Lee introduced himself to my sibling. He offered his hand for a handshake but Terrence, my brother, just stared at him.

Lee was about to retrieve his hand for his offer of a handshake but Terrence suddenly shook it harshly.

“THRANDUIL! It’s nice to meet you.” He said with a toothy smile. The handshake stopped and Terr looked at his own hand. Terrence is a big fan of the ‘The Lord of the Rings’ Trilogy. Because of him, I became a Tolkien fan. Thus, he is one of the reasons why I’m a big fan of Lee.

“The Elven king just shook my hands!” He said and looked at Lee. “I need to tweet this.” Terrence sat on the couch as he pulled out his phone from his pocket. Lee chuckled slightly while I buried my face in my hands in embarrassment because of my brother’s behaviour.

“So dad, what are you doing here?” I asked my dad as nicely as it can sound as possible.

“Well, your brother and I will watch a game in the Stadium here tomorrow. Don’t worry we’re not planning to stay in your apartment for tonight. We occupied a hotel room.” He said and munched on his food. We decided to eat somewhere else since I’m not a good cook so we went to a restaurant. And yes, Lee is still with us.

Terrence chewed his food while staring at Lee. My brother is acting really weird but it does not really surprise me at all. Lee, on the other hand, didn’t bother it but I did. I kicked my brother’s leg under the table everytime he glares at Lee. “Stop it.” I mouthed at my sibling. He would just roll his eyes and lock his eyes to Lee.

“Douche.” I muttered under my breath and shook my head.

“Azze? Is something wrong?” Lee said and they all looked at me.

“Nothing.” I said and continued eating.

“So Lee, tell us more about yourself.” My dad said and waited for Lee’s response. And the long night was just beginning.
