Chapter 18 - Protective

"Are you okay with your room?" I asked Lee and sat beside him in the bed.

"Yeah. I understand." He said and gave me a quick smile as he took some clothes out from his bag.

"I really want you to be in the same bedroom with me but dad....." I started but i stopped when he kissed me in my lips.

"I said, I understand." He murmured in between our kiss. I gave him a smile after we pulled out from each other.

"Dinner's ready. Let's go?" I asked and flashed him a smile.

"Sure."

""There was this one time when Azze was a baby, she was playing with her toys in the floor when a cockroach crawled beside her. She wasn't afraid of it and surprisingly, she picked it up very calmly and opened her mouth. She attempted to eat that roach ..." My mom paused for a moment for she gave a laugh and then she continued, "But her father, was just in time to stop her. Azze was so innocent back then." Mom smiled at herself and reminisced about that event.

"Mom... i don't even remember it." I muttered and rolled my eyes. She's embarrassing me ..........

"Oh, darling. There are a lot more funny things that you did." Dad backed up Mom. It seems like i have no one in my side in this family.

"Yeah, she was really stubborn." My very supportive brother, Terrence, also decided to butt in.

"Enough chit-chat. Can't you see how red she is now?" My Uncle Jerry said and chuckled. All eyes were on me and i heard a couple of laughter. I lowered my head in shame. Lee was in front me who seems to be amused by all of these.

"So take care of this stubborn girl, Lee. We really love her." Aunt Jamie said sweetly which made me smile. 

"It's not like you're gonna last..." I heard someone mumble. I looked up to see it was Ian, my cousin,  who was beside Lee. I looked at Lee's expression because obviously, he heard what Ian said. He had a small frown on. My brows furrowed too because of what Ian said. That jerk....

"Darling, anything wrong?" Mom asked when she noticed my expression.

"No mum. Its just nothing." I said and smiled widely at mom and kicked Ian's leg under the table at the same time.

They set out a camp fire at the backyard. Lee and I excused ourselves there and we sat inside the living room.. I occupied the right part and he took the left potion of the couch and there was a little space in the middle of us.
