Chapter 3 - Another One Bites the Dust

•Jessie's Point of View•

"WAKE UP!!!!!! JESSIE!!!!!"
I jumped and Kevin was yelling in my face. He pulled me and ran. Everything was a blur until I saw the blood. Both Sam and Dean were hurt. Cas was helping Dean, who was unconscious. Sam was covering his shoulder with a hand covered in blood. I ran to him and ripped a piece of my shirt off to tie it around his shoulder to stop the bleeding. I helped him up and brought him to the bathroom so I could clean everything and get the bullet out. Sam pulled the bullet out himself and I found a first aid kit. It had some rubbing alcohol so I poured some on the wound but the fabric of his shirt kept blocking the wound. Sam took the shirt off and blood was just dripping down his arm. I grabbed a towel and wet it to clean around his arm and shoulder. He flinched as I put more rubbing alcohol and cleaned some more. Pretty soon, it was clean enough and I looked for something to put on it. Any kind of bandage. I found something and laid it on top of the bullet wound. Then I taped it down with some medical tape I had found. As I did that, I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around and saw Dean. He looked at me with a hurt expression, then walked away. I looked back at Sam. "I'll be fine. Go talk to him. See if he's okay," Sam told me. I ran after Dean and caught up as he was about to close the door of his room. I squeezed inside and shut it behind me. Without thinking, I hugged Dean tightly. He didn't hug back. "I was worried about you. Are you okay?" I asked. He nodded and walked over to his bed. As he sat down, I sat next to him. "What happened?" I asked. All he said was that he was thrown onto a glass table and passed out. "Did I do something wrong?" I asked. I get the feeling I did something bad. Dean just isn't acting like before. "Look, I'm probably just being a horrible person but I'm just annoyed. That's all," he said as he looked away from me. "Annoyed with me?" I asked. "Annoyed with the fact that I heard you didn't see if I was okay. You just went straight for Sam and then I saw you and him. It just seems like you like him."

"I don't like him like that. I just saw that Cas was helping you and no one was with Sam so I went to help. He was bleeding a lot," I explained.

"Okay I'm sorry."

"Don't apologize. That was my fault. I should've checked on you too and I get how seeing me with your brother shirtless in the bathroom would seem weird." I looked at the cuts Dean had all over his face, no doubt from the glass on the table he was thrown on. I touched his cheek gently and he flinched, closing his eyes. I moved my hand away and looked at the floor. "What did you do while we were gone?" Dean asked to break the silence. "I hope you don't mind but I slept on your bed," I answered. This brought a smile to his face. A small smile, but at least it was a smile. "At least you made the right choice. Sam's bed is practically a rock," he chuckled. "Glad I chose this one then. Your blanket is comfortable."

"Glad to hear that."

Cas suddenly appeared in the room. "Why didn't you heal us, Cas? We could've kept going," Dean said to him. "I took care of it and I thought it'd be best to just bring you back quickly."

"Wait....heal you?" I asked.

"I'm an angel," Cas confirmed.

"Ohhhh. The things you learn everyday."

"You're about to learn more. I think you should hunt with us," he suggested.

"No," Dean said immediately.

"Aw please I want to," I begged.

"You'll get hurt."

"How about we teach her at least how to use a gun?" Cas asked.

"That's not a bad idea," Dean said.

They brought me to a room with targets and guns. I chose a gun and aimed for the target. "If you take a good shot, I'll let you go hunting with us," Dean said behind me. I took in a deep breath, held it, then released as I pulled the trigger. The bullet sped to the chest part of the target. Right in the middle of the chest. "You can shoot?" Cas asked in surprise. "I used to go hunting with my dad every summer," I answered. "Well you're going hunting with us."
