Elaine waited and waited for the pageant to start. Her daughters High School and a few others had decided on having a beauty pageant in order to raise money for many things including a trip to a surprise state.

Elaine had trained her daughter on how to be a pageant queen since the day she had learned to speak and walk.

Elaine had taken a seat on the front seat so she could have a perfect view of her daughters victory.

She waited for the competition to start. Even though this pageant want exactly a beauty pageant, Elaine thought it would be a great start.

As the people rushed in and the seats filled up, a certain woman caught Elaine's eye.

The woman had almost everything Elaine had ever wanted. She had perfectly straight blonde hair and the most beautiful blue eyes ever. Her flawless skin was wrinkle and you name it free, giving off a natural glow.

Elaine was instantly jealous. But it wasn't the woman that ticked her off the most at the moment. It was the 3 boys with her.

They were very loud and extremely hyper. It was the smallest one that was the most loud. He just wouldn't stop yelling and cheering. One of the was also carrying a gigantic sign. Elaine managed to only read the name. Beth.

Elaine hoped they would sit somewhere far from her. She didn't want anybody ruining her daughters victory. But just in her luck, they sat right behind her.

Soon enough, Elaine had to turn around. It was them that she noticed the picture on the sign not had a picture of a very beautiful young teen.

"Hi. I'm Elaine. What are your names." She said.

The middle one replied. "I'm Jason, that's Percy and that's Leo."

"I didn't know you were friends of Bethany's. But it's so nice to see that she has people out there who would care to come. I'm her mother." Elaine said.

The oldest looking one looked the most confused.

"Is that one of your mothers?" She asked the boys.

The smallest one looked surprised like he had just received a compliment while the other two just looked plainly disgusted.

"Ummm...no she's my girlfriends mother and the aunt of the girl we are voting for." Said Jason.

"Aunt?" Elaine asked. "But that's not Bethany's aunt. I think you've got the wrong person."

"Who's Bethany?" Leo asked. "Were here for Percy's girlfriend. Annabeth Chase. Not Bethany. We don't even know who that is."

"Oh! My apologies. I had thought you were here for Beth. Well good luck to Annabeth. She's got tough competition. Especially if one of them is my daughter," she said proudly.

Leo had a mischievous look on his face while Jason gave her a dirty look. Percy on the other hand gave her a laugh. A fake one of course, but it was still a laugh.

As Elaine checked her watch for the time, she saw 2 other people join the group. An older looking man in a business suit accompanied by a woman who seemed to be his wife.

A good 5 minutes before the pageant started, another girl joined the group. She had an unusual yet unique sense of style with her dark blue and red plaid shirt, ripped jeans and choppy brown hair, pulled in to a messy side braid.

She greeted everyone politely except for the pretty woman whom she gave a forced smile.

Elaine clapped as the hosts entered the stage. Finally the pageant would start. She was just hours away from having that crown.
