"Harper!" I heard my Mom yell from downstairs and I threw my pillow over my head not wanting to get out of my bed.
"Come downstairs someone is here to see you!" She screamed even louder than last time.
I groaned as I stand up from my full size bed, my toe hitting a box really hard.
"Shit" I whispered to myself as scrunched my face up due to the pain.
I made my way out of my room hobbling down the stairs to the kitchen. I leaned on the counter and looked at my mom waiting for her to tell me why she woke me up at 8:30 AM on a Saturday.
"Kevin's in the living room." She said as poured herself a cup of coffee.
"Oh why?"
"I don't know, something about wanting to take you somewhere." She shrugged as I nodded and walked off.
When I walked into the room sure enough my 13 year old brother Adam and my best friend Kevin were playing a video game. I sat right next to Kevin giving him a small smile.
"God dammit! How are you so good at this game?" Kevin signed as he stood up from the couch shaking his head.
"You just suck," Adam smirked.
"I'll beat your ass next time," Kevin said as Adam shook his head walking out of the room.
"I didn't know you were coming over this early," I said.
"I want to take you somewhere," he explained and I smiled at him.
"Where?" I questioned with a raised eyebrow walking up the stairs. I heard Kevin following me to my room.
"It's a surprise...I'm not going to tell you so just don't even try to convince me," his face going into a huge grin. I chuckled and walked into my room telling him to stay right outside so I could change.
I quickly changed into a a white cropped tank top and mom jeans throwing on my all white Nike Air Forces.
"Hurry up Harper," Kevin called from right outside the door.
"Shut up you can come in," I laughed.
He quickly opened the door making his way to my bed. I quickly put my long brown hair in 2 messy French braids. I walked into my bathroom to brush my teeth and put my makeup on.
"I'm ready!" I smiled at Kevin spinning in a circle for him to see my final look. "How do I look?"
"You look beautiful Harper," Kevin smiled at me. "Now can we go?"
"You're so impatient," I rolled my eyes, he smirked handing me my phone.
"Can I plug my phone into the aux cord?" I asked looking over at Kevin just as he sat in the car.
"Your music sucks ass, plug in mine," he said as he handed me his phone.
"Kevin ur music is literally shit I'm plugging in mine," I chucked. "So where are you taking me?"
"I'm not telling you just go to wait and see." He smiled at me his blue eyes glancing over at me before going back to the road. I turned up the music sitting back in my seat starring out the window feeling my eyes get heavy.
"Harper...Harper! Wake up" I heard a deep voice say as they shook my shoulder. "We're here."
"Okay," I yawed stretching my arms out In front of me.
"We have to walk a little."
"My shoes tho!"
"Don't worry the walk is like 15 minuets and it's paved," Kevin explained, taking my hand and helping me up from my seat in the car. I mumbled a thank you as we made our way down the path.
There was no one else here except us. After about 10 minutes of walking I started to hear the sound of water. It sounded like a river.
In the distance I could see a picnic table and a stream surrounded by many trees. It was beautiful. It was so green and it was breathtaking honestly.
"How'd you find this place?" I asked looking around as we sat down at the table.
"Last year when my dad came back into town I was so mad at him. I needed to calm down and somehow I found this place. It's pretty nice so I thought I'll bring you here too."
I nodded and went to sit next to him giving him a hug. His father left him and his Mother when he was only 10. He hates his father for leaving them alone. He hugged me back and I rested my head on his shoulder.
Kevin abruptly stood up causing me to jump in my seat. "Wanna go in the water?" He asked me.
"Umm no it's cold," I stated as he took my hand in his dragging me to the water.
"Kevin," I warned, "do not throw me in!"
"Harper have some fun," he said as he turned around and picked me up bridal style.
"No No No!" I screamed. "I swear if you throw me in it will be the death of you!"
He started counting down from three causing my eyes to shut and my arms to fly around his neck scared that he would throw me in the water at any second.
I felt his arms release from under me but due to my arms being wrapped to tightly around his neck he came crashing down to the floor with me.
I opened my eyes my face only inches away from Kevin's. He smiled at me his blues eyes looking into my green eyes. My cheeks turned a deep shade of red before turning my face away. Kevin cleared his throat before getting off of me.
"Sorry about that," he said slightly embarrassed as he grabbed my hand helping me to my feet.
"It's fine," I chuckled feeling the heat in my face slowly fading.
I noticed that we were still holding hands and I pulled mine away rather quickly causing my face to heat up again. Kevin's cheeks seemed to have a hint of red of them but he turned around before I could see.
What the hell just happened?
