"What the hell Kevin! Shut up!" A huge smiling making its way onto my face from the stupid joke he just made.

He smirked taking a sip from my Starbucks cup.

"This shit is disgusting how do you drink this?" He scrunched up his face in disgust handing me back my drink.

"The mango dragon fruit refresher is the fucking best actually," I said finishing the drink before throwing it away.

"Nah I got to disagree with you on that one."

I smiled at him shaking my head. I can't believe me and this asshole have been friends for 5 years.

We met in 6th grade. I moved during the middle of the school year to Edgewood Middle School and Kevin was the first person to actually introduce himself to me. We automatically clicked.

I turned my head to look back at him and I caught him staring at me. His eyes were looking all around my face before his bright blue eyes met mine.

"What," I flushed. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

He quickly turned his head so he was looking forward, "like what?"

"Never mind," I shook my head wrapping one of arms around his due to how cold it was.

I definitely should I bought a sweatshirt. It's literally 50 degrees right now.

Kevin looked down at me chuckling, "Harper your so short it's cute."

His cheeks slightly turned red when he realized what he just said. He obviously didn't mean to say that out loud. I felt heat rise onto my cheeks.

"5'3 is not that short!" I explained deciding not to bring up what he just told me.

"Do you want my sweatshirt?" Kevin asked me probably noticing how I was shivering.

"Umm no I'm okay I'm not that cold," I lied.

"Here take it."

"You really don't have to I'll be fine," I said as my teeth chattered.

He was already handing me is sweatshirt before I could protest anymore. I quickly slipped it on without hesitation. It smelled just like the cologne Kevin uses and I loved it.

"Thanks," I wrapped my arms around his arm again as we continued to walk down the sidewalk.

"What do you want to eat?" Kevin asked after about 30 minutes of us just walking and laughing.

"Sushi!" I smiled up at him. He hates sushi but he never says no for some reason when I want it. "Please."

"Uhh fine I will get you sushi," he signed.

"Hell yeah, I freakin love you!" My arms went around his muscly body as he just laughed.

After finishing up at the restaurant Kevin drove me back home.

"Thank you that was a lot of fun," I exclaimed as we stood on my porch. "Oh here's your sweatshirt." I started to take it off before his hand went to my shoulder.

"Keep it...it looks better on you anyway," he tucked his hands into his jeans pockets as he rocked back and forth on the balls of his feet.

"Doubt that."

"Trust me it does," he said giving me a small smile making me smile also.

He wrapped his arms around my small figure, my head resting on his chest due to how tall he was compared to me. He smelled so good.

"Did you just smell me?" Kevin asked pulling back from the hug a little.

"What no!" I said pushing him away. "That's weird."

"You for real smelled me!" He laughed my face turning red for what felt like the 100th time today.

Why do I keep on blushing! What the fuck is wrong with me.

"Shut up Kevin!" I covered my face with my hands to hide my embarrassment.

"I'm joking!" He chuckled bringing me in for another hug.

My arms wrapped around him before I heard the door behind me open. We quickly let go of each other my head turning to see my mother standing right in front of me.

She raised an eyebrow at us, "What is going on out here," her face held an amused expression.

"N-nothing," I stuttered. "I was just saying bye."

I walked into my house and waved at Kevin one last time before he turned around to walk to his black Honda Accord.

"What was that all about?" My mom asked me after closing the front door.

"What do you mean?" I raised my perfectly shape eyebrow at her.

"Harper he likes you, I can tell by the way he looks at you."

"Oh my god, you sound like Brooklyn!" I said as I walked away.

Brooklyn has been my friend since freshman year. She is constantly telling me how she can just tell Kevin likes me...more than a friend.

I know he doesn't.

We are just friends and that's all we will ever be...nothing more and nothing less.
