Golden Suns, Purple Skys

Prologue

Goldenkit sat in the nursery grooming his long, yellow pelt making sure not a  bit was sticking up for that day was his apprentice ceremony. Although he did not feel happy in the slightest only a moon ago did his mother, his dear, dear mother Silvermoon was brutally murdered in front of his eyes. He couldn't believe how quickly everyone had gotten over it even his father Springtail why would they just forget like that?! Filling with a sudden anger Goldenkit couldn't help his fur bristling up again and he scrunched up his face. Stomping out of the nursery he immediately saw his father over beside his sister Ambercrow. Once his father noticed him he murmured something to Ambercrow, got up and padded over to him.

"How are you feeling bud?" Springtail asked rasping a lick on top of his head.

Not wanting Springtail to think he wasn't happy Goldenkit forced a purr,
"Great I can't wait to be an apprentice!"

"That's the spirit but your fur is all sticking up let me straighten it before Shortstar comes," Springtail said walking around Goldenkit to lick the bristled up fur and just as he was done Smallstar hopped out of her den and climbed up onto a tree branch.

"All cats old enough to climb the Ancient Oak gather under the tall tree!" She yowled.

As all of the cats padded underneath the tree and sat down including Springtail, Goldenkit stepped forward in between Ravenfeather a shiny black tom and Coalpelt another black tom and tried not to shake with anxiety.

"Today is a very special day we have a kit becoming an apprentice, Goldenkit please step forward," Smallstar announced. As Goldenkit stepped forward shaking he cast a side-glance to Springtail and forced himself to stand tall and not shake not wanting to look scared.
"Today you have reached 6 moons which means you are ready to become an apprentice, Do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect your clan at all cost?" She questioned

"I, I do," Goldenkit stuttered.

"Then from this day on you shall be known as Goldenpaw and your mentor will be Fawnleap," Shortstar flicked her tail gazing at Fawnleap and Fawnleap stepped forward, "Fawnleap you are due to have an apprentice, you are a swift and intelligent warrior and I know you will pass on your skills to this apprentice,"

I am the deputies apprentice!Goldenpaw thought to himself as he listened to the yowls of his new name and went to touch his nose to his new mentors nose.
