"Hey, Ruvik," Brent walks up to the desk in Ruvik's office, "can we talk?"
"Of course," he replies, setting down his pen.
"Well, I've been trying to call Eva, but she won't pick up her phone."
"Eva," Ruvik feels what he thinks is panic. "Who's Eva?"
"She's my ex. The one that broke up with me recently. Do you know her? Or where she is?"
"Follow me," Ruvik replies, his heart beating faster than it ever had. He leads Brent down into the guts of the hospital, down to Eva. Ruvik's monsters bang on the glass as they pass. Quell even squirts ink at the window. They don't bother Brent as much as they did the first day.
In the big room, the tables are clean and organized, but one now has something interesting on it. A figure lying down, covered with a sheet. A hand hangs over the side, revealing a tattoo. An arrow on the wrist.
Exactly like Eva's.
"Did you kill her?" Brent refuses to look at Ruvik.
"Yes."
"Why?" Brent begins to cry.
"I didn't know that was her. I just found her first. I needed another specimen."
Brent says nothing before walking away, leaving Ruvik with Eva's corpse.

"Nyah?" Franziska Von Bow-Dagenhart Way looks puzzled at Brent. "Why are you leaving early?"
"Didn't you hear, Franzy? I quit," Brent tells her.
"No!" she whines. "You can't quit! Mr. Ruvik has been so much happier since you came. Please don't leave!"
Her tails flicks back and forth, "I'll can help you two get back together."
"Some things just can't be fixed, Franzy."
She huffs, determined to win.
"Fine," Brent sighs.
She squeals before grabbing his hand and dragging him back to Ruvik. Neither them know how she did it, but Franziska Von Bow-Dagenhart Way brought the two men back together.

Brent and Ruvik were in such a good mood after that, they decided to go back to Brent's house to crack open a cold one. After one beer, though, they decided there was something better they could do.
Slowly, they undressed each other, never breaking eye contact. Ruvik never noticed how beautiful Brent's eyes are. Brent lays down on the bed with Ruvik laying on top of him. Brent can feel his breathing causing him to moan. Ruvik caressed his skin, every rise and fall on Brent's body. Brent has never felt such pleasure in his life. Neither had Ruvik. But both knew, in that moment, they could not live without the other.
