Keith's Point Of View

Fucking school. Fucking teachers. Fucking students. Fucking Lance. God dammit.

I bit my lip "Shit." I tasted blood, it oozed like oil dripping from a can onto my desk, "Woah mullet! I know I'm unbearably stunning, but you can stop your nosebleed" Lance chuckled with a shit-eating grin.

I growled, "It's just my snakebites, McClain don't be such an ass..." I didn't make eye contact but I could still feel his smirk on my conscious, "Chill out.... here you might want this." The Cuban boy dramatically handed me a tissue which I happily accepted, "Thanks." I glanced at him before continuing to wipe my lip clean.

"Mr. McClain, I know you're trying to help but you've got an assignment to finish" Mr. Coran smiled, "Oh, yeah right. Cya around Keith" Lance returned to his desk and pulled out an overdue project from his folder.

Pfft this kid... I sighed "Yeah. Cya" I inchocerently mumbled with the tissue tucked in my mouth, I probably looked like an idiot but I didn't care. But what I did care about was if my piercings were going to get infected...

"Mr. Kogane," The professor snapped me out of my thoughts "You might want to go to the bathroom to clean that up..." he continued placing a yellow hall pass in front of me "Heh, yeah I probably should, thank you" I got up and headed to the door passing Lance who's brow was furrowed and pencil eraser between his peach pink lips concentrated on his assignment.

I entered the hall lined with navy blue lockers in numerical order, passing classrooms filled with kids my age. Murals decorated the white brick walls, My favorite was this quote that danced across the stone saying "The things that make you strange, are what make you powerful" it was the end of Ben Platt's Tony award speech. I though of it as a reminder... a saying that would keep me going till I finally graduated and could blow this popsicle stand.

I bent over and took a sip of the water that slowly fled out the fountain trying to remove the taste of blood from my tongue. I stuffed the tissue in my pocket since I wouldn't be needing it, the only reason I kept was to prove that someone cared.

The boys bathroom was just a mess of pencil-carvings that said 'penis' and unrolled toilet paper, one of the mirrors looked like someone nutted all over it so I kept my distance. Once I was situated, I walked back to class. Just to be told I was needed in the office.

Lance's Point Of View

Sheesh. The only reason why I was remotely kind to him was because he's gonna to have to stay with my family and I for the summer, and ya know first impressions and shit. Poor kid lost his parents, moving from house to house all his life. Of course he didn't know this exciting news, yet....

I wasn't surprised when he was called to the office, I'm guessing my parents are there to meet him. And here I am now, slumped over in a chair with my mom and him. "Oh, it's nice to meet you Mrs. McClain" he squeaked not making eye contact, "We're very excited for you to stay with us! Aren't we Lance?" My mom grinned "Yeah." I assured her.

"So what are your hobbies?" My mom was talking to him like she was her own child. "I like theatre... I was in the school play with Lance... I play the ukulele... I like drawing..." he stuttered with passion not expecting the personal questions, "You were in the school play! Lance why didn't you say so?" My mom yanked at my ear playfully "Ouch! He was Flotsam! One of the eels like me. Ya know heely's?" I whimpered in pain "Ah, yes! You were great!" She smiled "Thank you" he flushed in embarrassment, "Maybe you can teach Lance how to play ukulele, he's always wanted to learn." My mom teased "Of course... as long as this one can pay attention" he smirked and gestures towards me he suddenly eased into the conversation getting more comfortable by the second, "Hey!" I yelped, my mom laughed in belief "I can picture him snoozing off to your calm voice!" She cackled "Moooom stoooop" I blushed.

"I can tell we're all going to get along perfectly! we'll be picking you up to stay with us on the last day of school, so get your belongings together." My moms voice trailed off, "Okay, Mrs. McClain" he nodded with a sad look in his violet eyes.

Shit. This is going to be a long fucking summer.
