There's something weird about the setting of a horror story, they generally have the same pattern; describe the weather and scenery first. "It was a dark and stormy night" for example, but in reality a horror story could happen at any time. When you're shopping. When you're walking home from school. When you're at the gym. To name a few.

For me, i was sitting at a bus stop, Early on a Monday morning in the early summer, a perfect day one might say, i was on my phone like most teenagers nowadays when i sudden chill went through my spine. The urban legend behind that chill came to mind. About how it only happens when someone is walking on your future grave. I looked up. There was nothing happening around me but the chill of nerve endings didn't go away.
The blue bus rolled to a stop in front of me and as i got on and flashed my bus pass to the driver that i finally felt the chills subside; i sat down next to the window not letting the previous event get to me. "It's an Urban Legend, they don't come true they aren't real."

The classroom smelt like mould and something awful. My stomach heaved and  I had to steady myself against the door frame; my friend, Lauren, graced  me with a concerned look. It seemed like she was about to come over and help me, for some reason I didn't want that. I gave her a smile and waved her her off "Im ok!" I mouthed. I sat at my desk. My seat felt warm like someone had just sat there a moment ago, but that was impossible. This was the first lesson and all the classrooms are locked at the end of the day and are only unlocked by the teacher of the first lesson. There was no way someone could have sat in my chair before i came in. The chill went up my spine again.

The lesson goes by as normal as it could be. Sir going on and on about Romeo and Juliet's tragic love story, it was all rubbish if you ask me. I put my head on the desk and closed my eyes. Chills once again making their presence known. The bell rang its usual shrill scream and students burst from the doors desperate to escape to the playing fields, i followed suit but at a slower pace i was in no hurry to slide along mud and grass and dust.

The air was distinctively sharper than this morning. The warm air had gained a bitter edge to it; the wind cut through me. Cold. I made my way towards the wall of trees surrounding the fields perimeter; people screamed to my right and the dull 'thud' of footballs being kicked towards the high heavens echoed around my skull. As i got nearer the line of trees my spine exploded with pain as the electric chills shot down it at an alarming speed. I rested against the only English Walnut tree in the area and placed my hand on the base of my spine and gradually increased the pressure. The sharp electric sparks didn't subside.

It was in that moment that i noticed the boy. I couldn't see any distinctive features of him but from the build of his body he was definitely a year older than me, at least. He took a step towards me, one slow step after the other and the chills increased their rapid plunge. I felt my breath come in short spurts as panic gripped me. I became rooted to the stop as the boy came closer and closer and the chills got stronger and stronger. I could hear my blood racing through my veins. Everything inside me screamed. No matter how I tried I couldn't seem to move away from him.

I didn't see the knife emerge from behind me. But I felt it.
