a month and a bit later
Kieran couldn't keep his eyes from his beautiful wife as she danced her way through the house. loud upbeat music blasted through speakers, filling the whole house noise. "Thank God, we aren't attached to neighbours" He chuckled to himself. The past month and a bit had its share of up and down moments; when Emma's cycle finally came around it was the toughest time for them both. Seeing her dancing so happily right now filled him with confidence to ask her a question he had been practically gnawing at the bit to ask.
He wrapped his arms around her waist from behind and pulled her close, sending sweet kisses up and down her neck and jaw. "Can I ask you something?" He whispered against her ear, afraid that if he didn't ask her now he never will. She turned to face him, reaching for the speaker remote in the process. "Of course." she said, lowering the musics' volume. Kieran swallowed the lump that clogged his throat. He didn't know how to phrase it.
"Emma,love... If we had the opportunity to... to try again for a baby, would it be... something you would want?" Kieran closed his eyes as he spoke, he couldn't bear to see the happiness fade form Emma's face and to know he had caused it. Silence.
Emma was taken aback for a moment, she gazed up at her husband who had scrunched his eyes closed tight, nervous. Taking a moment, she thought about her answer, before leaning in to him. She placed her lips to his and brought him close to her in a long, loving kiss.
When they pulled away, Kieran dared to open his eyes, meeting Emma's he saw her fighting to answer his question. Eventually she spoke. "Its not something I wouldn't want Kieran... truly I want to have a family with you, but I'm too scared right now... I think it's too soon." Emma saw the disappointment in his eyes but ultimately, the understanding. Then, she had an idea. A seductive grin stretched along her face.
"But, that doesn't mean we can't practice." She hinted, her tone altogether more flirtatious. Kieran laughed loudly at her comment. falling silent, he raised an eyebrow and matched her tone. "Aye love, we can practice." The two smiled widely at each-other. Kieran squeezed Emma close to him once more and the two shared a passionate kiss, neither one wanting to part.
