Blake came upon the patch of disturbed earth where Broderick had covered Danny and himself, a coffin of sorts in which vampires bury themselves and those they wished to further empower with the virtue of eternal life or, in this case, repair and/or revive a fallen subject. He stood there a moment, repelling the temptation to tunnel his thoughts into the raw clay and feel the emotion and the power brewing within. He knew well enough that processes like this were not to be disturbed. It was a ritual intended to bond the once mortal soul to his or her maker. It was also for the vampire itself to heal of its wounds, either the earth or a blood bath; or in the most extreme cases, immoral sleep.
Blake sat down against a tree, gazing up at the beautiful moon surrounded by stars in the night sky. Rain started to drizzle its way to the earth and Blake welcomed it, relaxing in its soothing coolness. He shut his eyes and began to meditate.
His thoughts traveled back to when he was made a vampire. His maker was the most beautiful woman he ever laid eyes on. It was the year AD 1625. He had just arrived by boat to New Amsterdam before it would later be known as New York City, which occurred in 1664 when the English took it over. It had been a rather small community before its first population explosion in 1655. He was a young man, merely twenty-four years old and single, arriving at his new home along with a few of his friends looking for new adventures as Europe had proven most boring.
He found work as waiter in a trendy establishment of the time and happened upon the winsome Madame Alexis, to which she insisted as such. The four times she visited the restaurant, she was cool in personality, not too friendly but not too rude. Blake found that an added bonus, as he preferred his women a little on the "hard to get" side. Over time, with enough persuasion, he eventually won her over, to which he discovered later that she was putting him to the test straight from the beginning. She ended up inviting him to her lustrous abode as she had been born into wealth. Her personal assistant provided the champagne and Blake and the Madame talked for most of the night, eventually turning into an act of seduction which led to the bedroom where her assistant lay naked atop the comforter awaiting their arrival. Before Blake could resist about having sex with a man, the Madame dug her fangs into his jugular, rendering him immediately powerless and much under her control, submitting him to a sensual night of passion where he was mere putty in the hands of Madame Alexis and her assistant, himself a rogue, both predators sexing and feasting on Blake into the early rays of dawn.Blake found himself naked and alone a few hours later in the bed, comfortably tucked away and secure. A note with five thousand dollars lay on the night table, instructing himto full access of the residence if he so chose and to enjoy the capital left in his possession to which Blake took to shopping the entire day, acquiring many wares among the merchants throughout the settlement and dining in the finest establishments. He returned to the Madame's estate to which he showed her his many purchases much toner delight. She insisted he try on every piece of clothing, offering fashion tips and the outfits he looked best in.
Through many months, the Madame escorted him to different places and countries, wining and dining him and showing him the finer pleasures in life. The sex was addictive, whether one on one or a threesome with her assistant, the life of the vampire empowering and, at times, quite narcissistic. Blake learned to control the thirst, although he mostly fed from the Madame, much to her insistence. She desired him mostly to herself, despite the occasional nights of sharing him with he assistant, whom Blake came to know as Dane. The Madame on some evenings pleasured herself as she watched the two men in her life engage in lustful acts with each other.
It was then on a fateful night that everything went wrong. Blake was out with a liaison late that evening but headed back to his home when he came upon the Madame's house set ablaze, the work of an arsonist. Both she and Dane were killed and the perpetrator never found. Blake lost everything but had a rather hefty bank account thanks to Madame Alexis. He rented out an apartment and found work as overnight security at a local art museum to keep the funds coming in for a while before hearing from a lawyer who worked for the Madame who gave him a letter stating that she left all of her financial matters to him but that it was kept in a private vault. Having made the arrangements to have the vault opened, Blake discovered that he was left with two million dollars and the deed to a large hosue that was in her name. However, Blake didn't want to stay in New Amsterdam any longer, due to depression; he sold the house and used the extra money to settle in New Orleans. He possessed more than enough money that he no longer needed to work and started investing his inheritance in various stocks and businesses, accruing investments that were definitely doing positively well to where Blake ended up buying the mansion he now possessed and hiring the finest interior decorators to fancy it up to his liking and specific tastes. He was happy and proud of his accomplishments, yet he lacked the one thing he craved most.
