As he ran out of the school building with insults and laughs following him out the door he didn't take a second glance back while he held his backpack tightly around his shoulder and walked as fast as he could to get as far away as possible. How could he, he thought as the sadness and pain he had been hiding behind his heart finally escaped and hit him hard. Of course this would happen to him though.

Nothing good every happens to people like him. But the sad thing is he had made a mistake. A mistake that he had so desperately thought could never happen. He fell in love. He fell in love with someone who cared for him, which made things worse. Becasue trust happens, and after that closeness happens, and then poof. You fall so hard that when you hit the ground you just want it all to end. You think to yourself where did you go wrong. But he knows what he did.

He wanted to fall freely for him. But he was scared of falling. He wanted to search within his eyes. But he was terrified of the dark. He wanted to soar to him. But he was petrified of flying.

He wanted to love him. But all his previous fears were telling him no. His senses said trouble, his mind said pain, but his heart said love.

A long time ago things would have been different. He would believe something good has to come out of all the bad that has been given to him. That was then. This is now. And now consist of him running through the crowded streets of New Jersey with just his backpack and a broken soul. The sky's were gloomy and it was slightly dark with no sun to be seen in this dreadful day. The poor boy had just reached the middle of the city. People talking on phones or walking with there children passed by him as the brown eyed boy looked around to find somewhere to go. Just as he turned around he froze. Slightly far deep in the crowd was where he found those soft caramel eyes that make his heart skip a beat. They stared at each other for what seemed like eternity until the caramel eyed boy started walking closer and closer. That was what snapped the broken boy out of his trance and began running the opposite direction from the other boy.

He ran and ran until he reached a lonely abandoned place. New Jersey's Graveyard. He looked behind him to make sure nobody was following him and sure enough the only thing to see was ripped papers flying everywhere, result of the wind. The depressed boy dropped his backpack at the front gate before entering the large place. He snuggled into his large black coat as he walked along the dirt trail avoiding stepping on the piles of dead leaved everywhere. The place looked as dead as the people buried here.

Tall dark slim trees with branches and dead leaves surrounding them. The pale young lad flinched as a droplet of water bounced on his nose.

Looking up he saw the clouds as full as they can be not able to hold on much longer and ready to break. More and more droplets on rain came down until it was fully raining. And not softly. Struggling but managing the brown haired lad walked to a certain place he would go to when things got to rough to handle. He spotted the same old bench and the same old rosé on the ground next to a special gravestone.

Walking to the front of the gravestone he looked down signed desperately and sadly. He didn't even notice the tears whelming up in his eyes. He walked to the bench to sit down in front of the gravestone just staring at it before speaking. "Hey dad.", the helpless young boy whispered as the clouds snapped and roared in the sky wetting the earth. The young boy was soaking wet and shivering slightly but not even that can stop him from speaking to him father one last time before he goes and joins him. " I'm sorry I haven't spoken to you in a while.

Things have been crazy without you here.", he said wiping a tear that slipped down his cheek. "Mom hasn't spoken to me since you've been gone. She thinks its my fault you died and well you can only guess what she has been drinking lately.", he chuckled sadly.

Memories of when his dad was still alive and when his mother still cared flooded his memory as he continued. " I don't think I will ever return back home Dad. I'm sorry I failed you. Your only wish was for me to take care of mom and myself but its easier said than done.", he said.

His voice trembling and becoming louder. "Mom won't even look me in the eye before leaving to go get a one-night stand. She's taking drugs and I can't stop her from taking anymore." He exclaimed as the rain mixed with his salty tears. "And as for me...Everybody hate me dad. Everyone! You would have excepted me! You would have understood! Why did you have to leave me alone!", the broken boy yelled standing up and walking closer to the grave. He was trembling from the cold and soaking wet. "Why couldn't you take me with you!" His voice getting louder after every word he spoke.

" I'm miserable here! I have no one to talk to I feel like screaming and ripping my hair out! You said you'd be with me forever liar! I feel so alone right now." He yelled, whispering the last part before falling to his knees crying with the sky. "I..I don't want to get people's expectation up just to disappoint them later like I did with mom. I've been running from everything my entire life and I still haven't gotten anywhere. After all how can you run from what's inside you." He cried and stopped trying from stopping the tears he was been holding in for far to long.

He tugged at his hair and screamed at the sky while he rocked back and forth. " I can't deal with this fucked up shit anymore because I'm just not strong enough and I'm tired of pretending that I am! I don't know why everybody hate me so fucking much, but now I think I do because I hate me to." Whispering the last part as he brought his knees up to his chest and cried harder than the rain. He faced the sky and yelled. "But I'm always fine aren't I? Can't lose something you never had! I have no one!" The rain seemed to under stand the sad boy's pain as it roared loud in the sky and cried with him. Suddenly he felt strong arms wrap around him pulling him close. It didn't take anyone with a brain to know who it's was. He didn't even try to fight the caramel eyed boy off him as the broken boy cried deeply into his chest.

The slightly older boy didn't say anything because ether wasn't anything to be said. "I just want to die!", he yelled into the boys grip and cried his poor little heart out. He just held the younger crying boy in his arms tightly afraid he might disappear from him again. The boy's cries tied down until they were just sniffles. "Why did you come back?" The older lad looked down to see the fragile boy in his arms looking up at him. "You were sad. I love you and letting someone you love go just so they could be happy is what I did, or tried to do.", he answered and waited for a response from the younger boy. "I was sad, but not at you or school or my mom." He raised an eyebrow and questioned.

"Why were you sad then?" The broken boy back down and laid his head on the other boy's chest. "Because when you're happy nothing ever stays like that. I woke up and realized everybody I had left me." This time he looked up stared straight at him while speaking. "My mother is lost in her world she created and my father left when I needed him most. One day you have it all and then the next you have nothing. You feel nothing. Your broken." He looked down again and stuck his hand from out of his coat to feel the rain. "People thing your like some broken toy that can be fixed, when in reality you can always fix the outside but the inside is what you can never fix. And that's where it's counts."

They stayed silent after that just holding each other close as the rain kept on going like time. A sudden question popped into the older lads mind but he did quite know whether he should say it or not. "How are you not mad at me for what I did?", he asked looking down at him. The younger boy didn't even blink. "That's the thing when you love some one. I hate that I just can't hate you. Not even close. Not even a little bit. Not even at all." The other lad hugged him tightly and kissed his temple.

And so that's how they stayed. In the rain holding each other close and enjoying every single moment of it.

So you may be asking yourself what did he ever do to hurt this poor harmless boy? What do you think? Everything could be forgiven but nothing can be forgotten.
