I always knew he'd find me. I just didn't know it would be like this.

*Delilah's P.O.V.*

My shop had been doing great. Lots of customers came in to either buy instruments or take music lessons from me. The only time I ever heard silence is when I went home. The last half hour of the day, I was teaching a little boy named Lucas how to play the piano.

"Now you're going to put your thumb on this key, which is called C. And then you'll put your middle finger on this key, this is E. And then place your little finger on the key right over there called G." I demonstrated

He followed every instruction I gave him perfectly.

"Now all you have to do is press down and there you have it! A C major chord!"

He pressed down on the white keys, emitting a beautiful sound.

Just as I finished congratulating him on his progress, I looked at the clock and saw that his time was up and I had to close up shop for the day.

"Alright Lucas, as much as I would love to continue this, your mother is waiting for you!" I said

He got up from the piano bench and walked over to me.

I escorted him out of the room and down the hallway toward the entrance where his mother was waiting for him.

"Thank you so much for having him Delilah, he really enjoys coming here!" His mother said

"Well I'm just glad I can help out!" I said

"We better get going now Lucas, it's getting rather late and Ms. Delilah has things to do." His mother told him

He waved me a goodbye as he left.

Now that he's gone, I need to tidy up a bit before I left. There were a few boxes that needed to be taken to the back room. I picked one up and carried it to the room behind the front desk. Just as I set the box down, I heard the bell on the door chime. Ugh. Just what I needed. I should have locked that damn door!

"We're closed!" I shouted

"I really need your help! If I could just spare a moment of your time please." A man's voice with a thick accent spoke to me.

I sighed before walking through the doorway and sitting down at my desk without looking up at who was standing there.

"What can I help you with that's so important?" I said in a rather annoyed tone

"I was just casted for this new movie and I lied and told the director that I could play the drums."

"Ooh tough luck there mate!" I said

"Please! I could really use your help." He said

I looked up from my desk seeing a rather handsome blonde man standing on the other side of the desk. He looked rather familiar but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

I looked at the time and realized I wasn't in a hurry to get home.

"I guess I can spare a little extra time. Now, what can I do for you Mr.?" I asked waiting for him to respond

"I need you to teach me how to play drums. And it's Hardy by the way."

"Ok then Mr. Hardy! If it's the drums you want, then it's the drums you shall play. But I can't promise to make you the next Roger Taylor by the end of the night. Follow me." I said while getting up from my desk

He followed me around the corner to the room where I kept the drum set. He sat down on the stool as he looked up at me waiting for instructions. His eyes. I could have sworn I've seen them before.

"Ok so are you familiar with the basic layout of a drum set?" I asked

"Yes, but that's the only knowledge I have." He told me

I was on my way over to the drawer where I kept the drumsticks before I stopped in my tracks when he spoke to me.

"You know, I could have sworn I've seen you before. Your voice seems so familiar. Can I get your name?" He asked me

I looked over my shoulder at him.

"It's Delilah." I said

"That's interesting."

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.

"You think my name is weird? Don't be so quick to judge. I don't even know yours!" I said

"No it's not that, it's just in high school I used to have a friend named Delilah."

"Oh. What was she like?" I questioned

"She was brilliant and caring. She was always by my side and was the kind of best friend people would beg to have." He explained to me

"And what happened?" I asked

"I kissed her one night at a party during truth or dare and somebody told my parents. They forced me to lose all contact with her because they didn't want me to get caught in a relationship. It broke my heart to lose her." He said

And at that moment, I knew exactly who he was talking about. It was me. But no... that couldn't have been him.

"I hate to sound rude but can we start now? Unless you refuse to hear my pathetic ass attempt to play the drums." He laughed

That laugh. I'd know it anywhere!

"Well I'll be damned!" I whispered

"Is something wrong Delilah?"

"No nothing is wrong. I'm fine."

I opened the draw and grabbed out a pair of sticks.

I walked back over to the drum set. I began showing him a few basic rhythms. What seemed like 15 minutes, was actually an hour. I was starting to get tired and I could tell he was too. I cleared my throat, catching his attention.

"I know how much you need my help, but I think it's best if we stop for tonight and you come back tomorrow." I spoke up, catching him off guard

"Oh yeah, that's perfectly fine." He said as he said standing up

"Could I get your number?" He asked me

"Slow down there mate! I'm not interested." I said

"Not like that! Just so I can text or call you to schedule lessons or ask how to do something. That's all." He said

"I'm just messing with you Ben!" I said laughing

Shit. I spoke too soon.

"Uh, how do you know my name?"

I couldn't think of anything to say. My tongue was tied.

"What's your last name love?" He said while getting closer to me

(AN: this next sentence is very cliche)

Eventually, my back had made contact with the door! Of course!

"I...ummm. What?" I said nervously

"I said, what's your last name?" He said looking straight into my eyes.

I'd know those green eyes anywhere. That's definitely him.

"Wilson."

He stepped away from me as his face lit up.

"Holy shit. It can't be." He mumbled

"You ok?" I asked him

"Delilah Wilson is that you?!" He said excitedly

"The one and only! How've you been Benjamin?"

His mouth opened and let out a laugh as all of the pieces of the puzzle connected.

The laugh that I had longed to hear for many years. He was finally here again. And I wasn't letting him go anytime soon.

To be continued!

I hope you all enjoyed the first chapter!
