Hi, my name is Ava, I have brown hair and bright, lively blue eyes.

I live for reading, I read basically any type of book, like thrillers, biographies, comics, young adult, history, humour, non-fiction, fantasy, action, adventure, basically everything other than romance. Romance just gets on my nerves, it is cheesy, unrealistic and sets peoples hopes too high!

Anyway right now I don't want to talk about books, since my mum is forcing me to spend a whole weekend without reading. What is she, crazy? I can't go a whole weekend without reading it's impossible! There's so many books I want to read at this very moment but I have to sadly go and 'socialise' on the beach.

Usually mothers of 17-year-old girls would be trying to get their daughters away from boys, but no, my mum is trying to get me to socialise with them!

I slowly pick myself up from the bed and drag myself to the resort lobby, I walk across the lobby to the door then walk along the small path to the beach, it's so crowded, I guess this is a popular holiday destination, but it sure is beautiful.

In romantic books and movies the girls luscious hair always flows behind them, gracefully, guided by the wind making their hair look soft and delicate. Right now my hair is flapping over my face, making it hard to breath. When I finally pull it out of my face it is extremely knotted and feels brutal and rough, it probably looks the same. I am not the biggest girly girl, but I can't take the state that my hair is in.

I place my towel down and secure the towel by placing my beach bag on top of it, not that it is that heavy since it doesn't have any books in it, I then take off my kaftan and scrunch it in my bag, revealing my stylish, floral, designer bathing suit, okay maybe I am a little bit more of a girly girl than I lead to believe.

The water is cool and refreshing, I would look extremely hot right now if I wasn't wearing snorkels and a pair of flippers. I love to explore, go on adventures and discover so of course I snorkel. I am slowly floating on top of a reef when a see a school of mini multicoloured fish, I pick up my pace and swim after them.

I feel my head bump something, my first instinct is that I hit a rock, if I wasn't wearing snorkels I would be cursing by now, but, hang on a second I remember that the ocean was perfectly, smooth and that there was no rock in sight when I last had my head above water, so I inquisitively raise my head to see two beautiful blue, kind eyes staring back at me, almost the colour of my own, just a shade darker.

I then see that bigger picture, a handsome, shirtless, smiling boy with wet brown hair staring back at me, no, not staring, smiling. I remember my manners and attempt to smile back, but fail miserably because I still had my snorkels on, I yanked them off and became extremely self conscious, my hair is a mess, my make up would be smudged, I was just wearing something that makes my nose look the size of a tomato, but yet he was still smiling at me!
