I could feel myself blushing.
"Hi I'm Ethan, What's your name beautiful?" He said, from this I could tell he was smooth and swift with words. I didn't know what to do, what to say so I just ducked my head under the water. Great, now I have ruined all of my chances to at least get to know him better.
I open my eyes and instantly regret it, remembering I didn't put my snorkel on, but I didn't close my eyes again because I could see someone, a figure, it was an arms length away, but all I could see was smiling. I'm so stupid, I guy introduces himself, I muck it up and then hide!
I don't have any more breath so I push my head above the surface, I don't know what to do so I decide to head to the shore, but I am grabbed around the waist by two strong hands. I didn't scream, I knew it was him and I have already made a too big of a fool of myself anyway.
"Sorry, I didn't have the chance to catch your name, but at least I had the chance to catch you!" Ethan said smoothly.
"My name is____"
"Ava, time to go, we are off to have lunch" I hear a voice calling, it is mum who is standing on the shore with my little sister Imogen, and my dad. I shot her a look that means 'mum, I'm busy, get lost!' and I can see she gets what I am trying to say, she just doesn't act upon it "sweetie we have a reservation for 12:30, I'm sorry you can't keep talking to that hot stuff over there but we have to go, now!" Mum says.
"Ava, before you go, let me tell you one more thing about my self, I am great at making connections. Here's one for example; The name Ava occurs in the word lava, lava is hot and so are you." I blush, how do I reply? What do I say?
"Ava, come on we'll be late!" Screams mum.
"Coming" I scream back. "See you later... Ethan" I say awkwardly
"See you later... Ava" he says in a awkward mocking tone, not in a rude way, in a cute way. I giggle and swim off.
