"Heather needed a break from life. Now answer my damn question."

She hissed.

"I wanted to skip school."

Zachary quietly murmured. Why did Rue seem to despise him? Zachary furrowed his eyebrows,

"I should get going.."

"Yes you should."

Rue snapped. He sighed,

"Well. See you Heather."

He flashed a smile at me, and Rue grabbed my arm and dragged me to the opposite direction, out of the forest. I turned around, but the boy was gone.

"What a mysterious lad."

I smiled. Rue rolled her eyes,

"More like a psycopath."

"No, he's nice."

I objected.

"Sure, sure."

She replied with obvious sarcasm,

"Let's go to the river."

Rue suggested, completely changing the subject.

"Let me enjoy this beautiful scenery first, and I'll catch up later."

I suggested.

"Okay."

Responded Rue, and she headed towards the river.

"Daughter of Hades,"

A disembodied voice whispered. I tried to see who was talking to me, but nobody was there. Then a man appeared infront of me, but it was subtle.

The gravelly voice now came out of  him,

"Brace yourself."

The man then slowly disintigrating, and I swore that I saw souls screaming in agony.

"What. The. Fuck."

I stuttered, and the words came back down my throat and I choked on it.

---

I felt my blood pressure drop, and I saw Rue, grunting furiously on the phone,

"Look dad, she can't know anything about this!"

She yelled. I couldn't hear who was on the other end,

"Zachariah is dangerous, I know..."

As soon as she saw me she hanged up the phone, and turned it off,

"Uhm. Hey."

She murmured. I peered over the river behind her; sky blue, opaque yet transparent. Roaring while the minute fish were carried by the stream. Some of the trees overshadowed the river, and I noticed
that the sun was shining down the river, and I saw my own reflection.

"Heather, be careful."

Rue warned, watching me,

"Heather, prepare yourself for what's going to happen.."

It was that voice again. I can't get it out of my head. Go away..
