Lucille woke to a quiet rapping on the door. She untangled herself from Thaddeus, trying her hardest not to wake him. She had a feeling she had tired him out. They had make love countless times in the night, until they saw the sunrise. She picked up his heavy silver watch on his bedside table, surprised that it was only eleven thirty. She threw on his big sweater, and snatched a pair of boxers from his dresser. She pulled open the door to see a man holding a tray full of yummy smelling food. She hid halfway behind the door, just in case. The man smiled warmly down at her. He held out the tray, as if it were a peace offering.

"Hello, Lucille. I'm Balthazar. FiFi was worried about you guys up here. You haven't called down for food, so she had me bring it up." Balthazar slid past her, setting the tray on Thaddeus' bedside table.

"FiFi?" She wasn't trying to be rude, but she was curious.

"Yes. Sofi. My mate." Balthazar sniffed the air. His eyes widened as he dropped to one knee. He leaned over, putting one hand over his heart. "I'm so sorry, Luna. I had no idea you and Alpha had completed the mating process. Ah. I can't believe I missed the bite....I'm...so...stupid!" He started slapping himself in the forehead. She was confused all over again.

"I'm sorry, but I have no idea what you mean..." As she walked towards the tray of food, she caught her reflection in a mirror above his dresser.

She had crazy sex hair, her lips were swollen, and she had a scar on her neck. The scar could have been years old, if not for the dried blood. Even through the blood, it was beautiful. She turned back in time to hear Balthazar's ranting.

"I should not have entered! He will not be angry with you, but I shall be punished. Oh, Luna, I'm so sorry! I should leave. When he wakes he will be very angry with me. I bid you a good day, mistress. If you need anything, don't hesitate to call. We would do anything for you." He stood quickly, and practically sprinted through the door.

She shrugged. She wanted Thaddeus again. Picking up a piece of bacon, she waved it under his nose. He sniffed twice before his eyes shot open. He took the entire piece of bacon in his mouth, pausing near her finger to nip her. He smiled up at her with a mouth full of food.

"Good morning, mate. I see you have managed to find food. I am sorry I haven't fed you. I promise to be a better mate." With that being said, he tugged her onto his lap. He decided to try to feed her each bite of breakfast. She shook her head, wanting him to eat as well.

"I don't eat until you are full." She was shocked.

"Thaddeus, will you tell me what knotting is? You said last night that it was "just your knot.""

"You know how for human females you have a cherry? I believe a common term for losing one's maidenhead is "popping the cherry"? Well, as a male werewolf, I have a knot. It dissolves the first time you have sex. It's a beautiful thing, really. My dad lost his knot to my mother. My brother lost his to his mate. Last night, we gave each other our virginities." Okay. She was officially shell shocked.

"Wait a minute-are you trying to tell me for the past four hundred something years you have been celibate?" The words sounded so ridiculous it wasn't even funny. There was no way he was a virgin.

"Yes. I was waiting for you. I wanted you to know that I hadn't slept with anyone else."

"Does everyone else wait?"

He frowned. "No. It's actually not common to wait. I was raised thinking that you were going to be the only woman I ever sleep with."

"But...what have you been doing?!" She stopped talking right after, thinking she'd insulted him.

He laughed, not the least bit offended. "Oh, sweetie. I'm a warrior. I've been in so many battles and wars it would make your head spin."

"The closest war was like...World War II?"

"Honey, we aren't the only supernatural creatures around. Vampires, fae, mermaids. You name it."

"Okay. Have you ever had a lover? Or been interested in someone?" It was his turn to be confused.

"Where did that come from? No, I have not. And I have only been interested in you." She smiled, finding comfort in his answer. "Speaking of lovers...how about some morning lovin'?" Thad just had to ruin the moment. She chose to push a pillow in his face. He sniffed the pillow, then her, then the air. His eyes narrowed.

"I met Balthazar. He's nice." Oh man, she thought. If looks could kill. She could tell her Thad was thinking of ways to pulverize Balthazar.

"He was up here? I should kill him. I don't give a damn if he has a mate, he can't be near you. No males near my mate. No touching or they die. I'll kill them." His voice got more distorted towards the end. He wasn't just pissed, he was furious. She placed a hand on his cheek, and kissed him on the lips.

"Awh. My big strong tough guy. No killing, okay? Be a good boy." He shivered, and pushed his face against my neck. Nuzzling softly, his licked at his mark. It gave her such a fright that she jumped. It was tingling, and kindof stinging.

She pushed him back, and he laughed falling over. The sun hit him just right, making him literally light up. His hair looked like a halo, and his skin shimmered. It made her breathe catch.

"Thad?" It looked like he was trying to gaze into her soul.

"Hmm?"

"I...I...lo...I love..you. I love you." His smile faded, and his face straightened into something serious. It scared me.
