"Fuck!" Jia ran with all the energy that she had. It's as if time went in slow motion, noticing the people board the subway.
Running like her life depended on it, she heard the female voice indicate that 'doors closing in 30 seconds'.
"doors closing in 20 seconds" Jia's heart raced.
"No no no no!!" She ran so fast, eyes widening even more when noticing the doors were literally closing.
The doors were ACTUALLY CLOSING this time.
Time seemed to stop around her, yet the doors were closing.
What was she thinking?
The doors were going to shut in front of her, leaving her hopeless and be late for her very first lecture of the brand new school year. The next subway in her neighbourhood wasn't going to arrive for another 15 minutes. If she took the next subway, she would be late to class.
What a great way to start the school year.
