"You heard me, ma?"

I sighed. "Yes, Angel."

"Man, what's wrong wit' you now?"

"Nothing, I'm just... nothing. Sorry."

"You still stressin' bout this sleep ova' tonight?"

I plopped down on the bed. "Yes."

"You don't have to go, Dri. She ain't show up to yo' shit or tell you happy birthday."

"I know, but that doesn't mean I should do her the same way. She's my friend."

Kenz busted in my room. "No, she ain't. A friend don't treat you the way she done did you."

I've been begging McKenzie to go to this hotel sleepover party thing with me tonight for Dayna's birthday since she was invited. She's been saying no all day, but I'm hoping by the time 7 comes around, she'll have changed her mind.

"You guys, seriously. I'm already stressed out about it, I don't need you guys making it worse."

"Don't get mad at me because your friend is fake as hell."

I sat down on my bed. "McKenzie, can you please just go with me?"

"You want me to slap the bitch in her face? You know me and her just got in an argument the other night. If she says something slick to me, I won't care about fucking her up at her birthday party."

"She never un-invited you, though. Even after the argument."

"I'm un-inviting myself. That's your friend, it'll be fine. I'm not about to put myself in a predicament to have to fight. I just got my nails done, uhn uhn."

Amere poked his head in McKenzie's camera, holding his phone behind Angel so we could all see each other through the phones.

"I got a suggestion." He smacked on his fruit snacks. "How 'bout, me, Angel, and Kenz get a room at the same hotel. You start feelin' like you wanna leave or you start feelin' uncomfortable, just come to the room we at."

Angel and Kenz shrugged and nodded. I figured it wasn't a bad idea either so I agreed. "I guess that can work, too."

"Aight, let me call you back, Dri. We gon' look up some rooms."

"Okay."

"Relax yo'self, aight?"

"Alright."

"Bye, Dri."

"Bye, Mere. Bye, Angel."

Putting my phone down, I waited for Kenz and Amere to hang up before falling backwards on the bed.
