Serena wakes up. Her eyes flutter open oh-so silently. The light leaks into her room, cascading down onto her bed. She frizzles her hair once more.
“It's really the day” Serena has been thinking about this day a lot for the past few weeks. She was accepted into the school of angels, angel academia. Her mother works there as a teacher, so it wasn't very unfamiliar. She steps out of her bed and gets ready.
The mirror shines bright, the light seeps into all her crevices and perfectly highlights her porcelain skin. She brushes her teeth while humming the school's anthem. Her mother often brings her there to the school, every monday of the week, they have a ceremony where the seraphims would enter and sing the anthem. The seraphims were high rankes officals in the society. She is but an archangel, forced to live in the confines of Earth, struggling to get a piece of his divine light until she passed to get in the school.
Her mother is a Dominion, a higher class angel who is in charge of the universe. The higher ranks share their divine illumination upon her. She, too is a graduate of this school.
“You'll be late sweetheart, you don't want Ma'am Maria to be angry, trust me.”
Serena packs her things up and heads on her way. They disguise themselves as humans for the meantime, since Serena is not allowed to enter the heavens yet, until now. She leaps outside, clearly excited. She was a wide grin on her face.
Finally, it's here. She thought to herself. The clouds parted, revealing a light blue sky above her. Today, she's gonna go beyond that barrier.
Sunlight shines right in front of her house. She can hear the jingles of the bells and the sweet fragrance of frankincense wavers above her house. A golden carriage lifted by fellow angels, Virtues to be exact.
“Come, they are waiting for you”
She steps in the carriage and says one final goodbye from her mother. She cannot come back, unless for religous holidays. They have to make the least travels as much as possible to keep a low profile. They live in the foggy mountains, so that nobody can now.
She slides her fingers across the golden walls. She sees her reflection p the silver mirrors. The speed slowly picks up, and the carriage shakes a bit. Her excitement gets higher. They're breaking the barrier. The barriet between heaven and Earth has many different levels, consisting of the heavenly bodies.
Sphere of the Moon
The sphere of the moon was the easiest to get by. The guardian angels were the softest here, they can easily be beaten by a demon trying to get in, so they are distributed in plenty. The guards circle around a ring of fire. The angels carrying Serena exchanged intentions, and they were in. The feeling of passing a barrier felt like jetlag, she got sick a little, but she shook it off.
They were nearing the new sphere, and it looked more guarded than before.
Sphere of Mercury
The guards that line the barrier's entrance seem to be a higher rank. They seem to be powerful, big and clearly armored. Serena picks outside to see the angels floating with their silver and titanium armor with their swords, which are soaked in flames that burn forever. The guardians talk with them until they are finally in.
Sphere of Venus
This sphere wasn't as guarded as the last sphere. Most likely, they did not expect that anyone would pass the last sphere. The carrier angels discussed, and we were let in.
Sphere of the Sun
This sphere was definetely the hottest. The sun was just a few light years away, trying her best to cool herself, she fanned herself with her hands while waiting for them to get in. She peeked outside, and the sun was in sight. The carrier angels didn't seem to care about the heat as much, and so did the guardian angels.
The ride got her a little motion sick, and maybe a little confused. She is coming for heaven, she is coming for her place in the hierarchy of angels.
