today marked exactly one day before the ball, everyone had a date. luna and draco were the only two not going with someone, for now. draco knew he could ask luna and seem like he wasn't up to anything, but why would she say yes? draco was pulled out of his thoughts by a small laugh followed by a female voice. "i'm serious! i saw one!" luna whines softly as she looked everywhere through the library. one had ran past and she knew it was there somewhere, but where? draco looked up and watched the blonde look for the imaginary creature before sighing quietly and getting up, closing his book. he gently tapped the small female once close enough and watched her turn around towards him with a big smile. "hello draco!" she was always so happy and nice to him no matter what he said or did. "luna." this was their normal conversation but draco quickly spoke again before she could. "do you have a date to the ball?" the question luna dreaded. "no, why? does someone want to go with me?" to draco, the way her face lit up with happiness made his heart flutter for some reason.
