There was a tiny black bunny, curled up in the corner. Its small head slowly looked up at me and when it noticed I was stood towering over it, it started to shake with fear, covering its eyes by curling up. I then felt guilty. I didn't want to scare the poor thing. I slowly sat down on the concrete floor by the bunny and I stayed still, showing the bunny that I wasn't a threat. After a few minutes, the bunny slowly lifted up its head, however it quickly hid again when it realised I was still there. "Hey, I'm not going to hurt you" I said in almost a whisper to not scare it away. It still didn't move. I then looked in my bag for any snacks it might eat. In the bag, I found a packet of plain crisps. "Hopefully it will eat this" I thought to myself as I carefully opened the packet, making sure to not make too much noise that would potentially scare it even more. Once I opened the packet, I placed a few crisps on the ground, awaiting to see if it would eat it and to my surprise it did. I watched it as it nibbled at the crisp on the floor, it seemed to like it. After it finished eating, it looked up to me.
I stared into its eyes and gave a small smile. Its eyes were extraordinary, I had never seen anything like them before! They were just black orbs that never seemed to have an end to them and they would absorb your gaze, not allowing your gaze to leave them. That was when I then decided to study the bunny more, since it was now closer to me and seemed to have calmed down slightly. Smooth, dark fur coated its body and two large floppy ears that hung slightly in front of his eyes sprouted from the top of its head. Its paws were tiny; about the same size as my knuckles. It was one of the most prettiest - no. It was the prettiest bunny I had ever seen.
After a while, I decided to move my hands towards the bunny, to which it flinched when I did so. I moved my hands back, not wanting to scare the thing. "I promise I won't hurt you" I said softly. I then held out my hands again, this time the bunny did not flinch but simply just stared at my hands. "Come on," I said, "Hop onto my hands". It continued to stare for another minute, then he hesitantly stepped onto my hands. I smiled softly as it showed that the little bunny had started to trust me. Not many things or people seemed to trust me, the only person that did was Jimin. I gently held the bunny in my cupped hands and brought it closer to me. As I did, it was shaking with fear and its ears where pressed flat against its head. I slowly removed one hand, holding the bunny with the other, and I started to stroke its fur very gently. I had never held a bunny before and when I did, I felt calm, relaxed and that something actually liked me. After a while, the bunny had closed its eyes, snuggling up in my hand. It was as light as a feather so I didn't mind holding it for a long time. I then had an idea. Since this little bunny seemed to be a stray, I decided it would be a good idea if I looked after it myself. I thought it would help my mood as I would have company and it would definitely help the little bunny.
When I arrived home cradling the bunny in my arms, I realised three different things: what was its gender, what was its name and where would I buy things for its needs? I decided to carry the bunny into my bedroom, carefully placing it on the soft blankets on my bed. Its little eyes fluttered opened as I had disturbed its peaceful slumber and it looked around. It started to shake again as it was scared from being in an unfamiliar surrounding with an unfamiliar person - me. I sat on the edge of my bed staring at the bunny. "It's okay. You can come closer" I said softly. It then hesitantly hopped onto my lap to which I smiled. "I'm just going to...have a little look," I said whilst cupping my hands under its arms to pick it up, "Sorry". I then lifted up the bunny; it was a male. At least I could now safely call the bunny 'he' instead of 'it'. I then carefully placed the bunny back down onto my lap. But what was its name? I would have to name him. I couldn't exactly think of a name straight away so I decided to think about that the next day.
It was quite late in the night so I decided to get ready to go to sleep. It had been a long day, and to be honest, I had forgotten about what happened at college when I met the bunny. The bunny made me relax and think happy thoughts. Maybe this would work out after all.
The bunny didn't exactly have a bed or a cage so I decided he could sleep on my bed with me. He seemed to like the idea as he curled up at the end of my bed and closed his eyes. I then climbed onto the bed, snuggling under the blankets and also closing my eyes. It was quiet and peaceful. All that could be heard was the soft breathes of the little bunny who was asleep.
