My bunny was a hybrid...

Yes, that was it. It had to be. The term hybrid means 'the offspring of two plants or animals of different species or varieties'. It made sense, apart from that it couldn't possibly be an offspring of a human and a bunny. That can't be possible. I've heard of human-animal hybrids appearances but never actually seen one. They are actually quite rare as they are made in a lab and are very expensive to make. Making hybrids or being turned into a hybrid is normally unsuccessful as the body rejects the inputted DNA, usually resulting in death. That is why hybrids are very rare.

What was stood in front of me was definitely a hybrid. It had all of the characteristics that a hybrid has (in this case, a bunny hybrid). He appeared a normal human boy until you notice the pair of black floppy ears that sprouted out of the top of his head and the small tail that showed on his lower back. It felt weird seeing the bunny hybrid in front of me for two reasons. One: I've looked after, what I thought was, a normal bunny for such a long time without knowing it was a hybrid and two: here it was stood in front of me in it's human form, that innocent look still on its face.

"Hi." he said quietly again, becoming nervous as his dark eyes averted their gaze to somewhere else.

"Hello." I replied, also becoming nervous. This was my first ever conversation with my pet- no. It felt wrong to call him my pet now that I knew what he truly was. The bunny didn't say anything. I felt like I couldn't say anything either. I found it difficult to think of something to say when I saw his thing  there in front of me. It felt weird. "Let me get some clothes for you." I quickly said, hurrying into my room and looking through the closet, pulling out a pair of light blue jeans, a grey sweater and underwear (he had to borrow mine for now). I then carried it and gave the pile of clothes to the boy. The boy simply nodded and locked himself in the bathroom to get changed.

As he was changing, I sat down on the couch as I thought about what was currently happening. I had a bunny hybrid living with me- an attractive one at that too, but it felt wrong to think that. I heard that many hybrid owners often used their hybrid as a sex toy rather than a living animal/human. I didn't want to be known as one of them, it was just so wrong to me on many levels. Soon, the boy walked out of the bathroom wearing the clothes I had given him. I found it quite adorable how the sweater I gave him was practically swallowing him as it was too big for him. He seemed to have quite a small and fragile structure, his waist being the tiniest.

"May I ask, what is your name? Or what should I call you?" I asked. It was the first thing I needed to know to try and make things a bit less awkward between us. Besides, before I knew about him being a hybrid, I hadn't even named him yet, so all this time I've just been calling the boy 'him'.

"My name is Jungkook" he replied in a small voice, still not looking at me.

"Well, Jungkook, it's nice to finally talk to you and well, meet you in person I guess" I gave a small smile, to which he didn't see. "Why don't you come and sit down?" I suggested, gesturing towards the spot on the couch that was empty beside me. "You know that I don't bite" I said in a soft voice, not wanting to scare him. After a few seconds of him thinking about it, he hesitantly sat down next to me, making sure there was plenty of space between us.

Unfortunately, that first day was awkward throughout. No matter how hard I tried start conversations, keep conversations flowing and keeping eye contact, it just continued to fail miserably. The more that I thought about it, the more that I thought that Jungkook was probably nervous and scared. He probably knew about what happened between other hybrids and their owners, and I don't blame him for feeling that way. I just had to show him that I was not like the other owners and that I will never be like the other owners. I needed to show him that I wanted to see our relationship as friends (possibly even best friends at some point), and not as a sex slave.

That day, the more I looked at Jungkook to keep eye contact, the more I noticed his features. Lets just say, he will be very lucky with the girls (and the boys). His dark hair was slightly wavy and messy and it partially covered his eyes. His doe eyes were the same as in his bunny form, just more dramatic. They were even more innocent and sparkly. He had a small nose that anyone would have the sudden urge to 'boop' and his lips were a pale pink; his bottom lip was quite full but his top lip was not. A pastel tint seemed to always be present on his cheeks and nose, like as if someone sprinkled pixie dust.  All of his features seemed to be just too perfect...

Before we knew it, it was dark once more. I had changed into my pyjamas and was lay on my bed until I sensed a presence. I looked up to see Jungkook stood by the door, looking towards the floor.

"Where do I sleep?" he asked quietly. That's when the thought came into my head. When he was a bunny, he always curled up and slept with me on my bed. Now he was a human.

"Can you change back into your bunny form?" I asked.

He shook his head as a reply, "I can't change on demand. It's random". I then blushed slightly as I thought about the fact that me and Jungkook might have to sleep together. Then another thought came into my head. I slowly got up out of my bed and arranged the pillows nicely.

"You can sleep here" I said, looking at the boy.

"Where will you sleep?" he asked, finally looking up at me.

"I will be fine" I replied with a small smile, to which this time he did notice. Jungkook nodded and hesitantly made his way over to my bed, climbing onto it and lying down. He curled up, just like he did in his bunny form. I walked closer, gently pulling the duvet over his small body, tucking him in and making him cosy and warm. I then turned off the light and stood by the door.

"Goodnight Jungkook" I said softly.

"Goodnight Taehyung".
