Castle Starlight, Crestlin, Tatin, Ablatin

EVANGELENE BROWER FELT HER SISTER'S BETRAYAL, though it was something that couldn't be helped. Out of everyone in the four countries of Ablatin, Eva knew that the blame should be put on upon her father, King Evert. Eva knew this, but she still felt the sharp pinprick of betrayal when her sister agreed to the stupid marriage.

Eva didn't even know why they needed it. All of Ablatin's countries were on good turf and every time she wanted to ask her father about it, her sister would pull her away and whisper in her ear, "It's tradition, Eva. You just have to accept it. A fourteen birth old can do nothing to stop a wedding such as this."

"But what if I can!" Eva would beg, her intense, baby blue eyes staring into the soft brown eyes of her sister, Everest Brower.

Eve would only shake her head and sigh, "If something could be done, trust me. I would do it."

That was always the end of their conversation. Eva would watch her sister walk away, pouting with her chin on the palms of her hands. She would stick out her tongue to Eve's back. Since Eva was predictable, according to Eve herself, so Eve would only laugh even though she couldn't see Eva.

Sitting alone in her room, Eva stared into the mirror that hovered above her dresser. She hated the makeup that her servants drenched her face in. Her already pale skin looked even paler. Her eyeliner was dark, a navy blue like the color of her country, Tatin, along with thick silver eyeshadow that made her baby blue eyes pop. Stickers of sparkling diamond, gems made her skin itch at the corner of her eyes. The black mascara that sat on her eyelashes was heavy, making Eva want to close her eyes and fall asleep. The lipstick she wore was a dark red, lined perfectly with the edge of her lips. Eva had no need for blush since she had a natural bright red blush that inflamed her cheeks, the tip of her nose and her ears.

The gown she wore was elegant and beautiful, but also a simple shade of silver and gray-blue. Its bodice was very constricting, letting Eva get a minimal about of breaths and made her sit up straight when all she wanted to do was lean back and slouch in her chair. The silky fabric fell around her legs, big and puffy. Small white flowers were fitted into the fabric here and there, not in any pattern that Eva could tell.

Underneath the gown, Eva wore a pair of lace heels covered in small pearls and diamonds. Strings of bead hung around her ankles, making her shiver every time she moved. On her neck, sat a beautiful diamond necklace, about ninety diamonds in all. The number was actually ninety-two. Earlier, Eva was bored and counted all of them.

On top of her golden hair, in a low looped bun at the base of her neck, Eva wore a tiara made of stands of constant metal, diamonds, and light blue topaz gems in a shape of a flower. She also wore a set of light blue topaz earrings that dangled from her small earlobes. They felt so heavy that Eva almost wanted to kill herself so she wouldn't have to wear them anymore.

A single hair fell when the door to her room opened making her jump. It was Eve, her gown even more elegant than Eva's.

Eve's gown was made from threads of silver and was large and round. Pieces of silver and diamonds stones clung to the silky fabric. When Eve flopped onto Eva's bed, her sapphire blue heels and the white ruffles under her dress revealed themselves. She wore a crystal cold white diamond and sapphire necklace that made Eva's look like it was made for a toddler. Her earrings were also made out of white diamond and sapphire gems, curling around her earlobes. The crown on her head was also a marvel, made out of diamonds and strands on constant metal. One day, Eva wanted to try it on.

Other than her gown, Eve's makeup was also a master of art. Her eyeliner and mascara were a rich black that made her the brown of her eyes soften more than already were but also added the intensity that she needed to become a queen. Eve's eyeshadow was a simple navy blue, very noticeable on her olive green skin. Silver glitter was sprinkled on to her face and every ip of her skin that wasn't covered by clothing. To Eva, it looked like snow, even though she had only seen a few of those small, ice flakes before.
