Jadon felt trapped in his aquamarine green suit, though it was actually very comfortable. He slid the black coat over his arms, its collar hitting his neck. The boots were also comfortable, rolling his ankle to see their flexibility.
He put his father's knife in his right boot, a hidden sheath provided inside. Jadon wondered how they would have possibly known he was going to put a knife there. The straps for the two sheaths on his back were tight, but Jadon knew they would loosen over time. He rolled his shoulders. They felt just as stiff as the straps so he jumped up and down, shaking his arms in the process. It made them feel better, though not a lot. They probably only hurt from anxiety and stress, which included nervousness. Jadon was very nervous.
Ben and Ella stood by his side on the small airfield just outside Chapona's cities limits. Along with the rest of the team, Donna was also there to say goodbye but not the king. King Cole gave a brief explanation of how he couldn't see them off to Gazar because of business back at Piccorock Castle. Jadon didn't really follow, but the king had also promised he would be on the airwaves too when Donna had to sleep and eat.
Before they had set out from Piccorock Castle, King Cole had given each of them their own C.S. watches so they could all keep in contact with each other. From Donna and King Cole to the team on Gazar or if any of them got lost or separated from the group. Most of all, they were to be used to communicate back to base, Lotna, and give updates. Every night, their team was ordered to give all the events of the day. West was ordered with this task.
When they were all strapped into the seats of the huge O.R. flyer, made to look discreet, the flyer rumbled upwards. High enough above the tarmac, the O.R. flyer lurched forward. It was Jadon's first time flying from planet to planet and his stomach started to feel weird. He swallowed the feeling down and held on tightly to the strap across his waist.
From across the way, Faeden smirked mockingly at him. "What's so wrong? You look sick. Never flown off-planet before?"
Jadon shook his head. "No. Have you?"
Faeden threw back his head and laughed sarcastically. "What do you think? Of course, I have. Before I was on Tapalla's guard, King Cole was training me to be leader. He put me on his guard and we would set out for Cratib."
"Wait," Ben said, accidentally elbowing Jadon in the ribs. "Isn't Cratib where the Council of Mistar meets?"
"Yeah," Wendon spoke up. "We've both been there."
"That's cool," Ben said, his voice sounding full of awe.
Jadon watched West roll his eyes. The nice twin brother seemed annoyed. He sat across from Ella and winked. Then she rolled her eyes back at West and kicked him in the knee cap. West seized a breath and glanced at his brother and Faeden. Neither of them seemed to care if he was in pain. Jadon didn't care either. He looked back at Faeden without as much as a second glance. Ella and West could figure out their problems on their own time. They didn't need any help.
Ella looked from West and smiled saying, "That does sound cool. Isn't Cratib very secure for that reason? It's really restricted, right?"
"Yup," Faeden replied as the O.R. flyer rumbled.
Jadon gripped the seat belt and took a deep breath. He was glad there weren't any windows on this certain flyer, though it probably would have been amazing to see the stars of their milky way. He glanced at Ben and saw the same reaction as his. Ella seemed perfectly fine though he knew she had never traveled off-planet before.
Opening one eye, Jadon asked, "When do we get there? Gazar, I mean?"
Tapalla flashed through his mind and he could feel his face turning red, but then it went blue as he thought about how cold the planet would be. At least their suits were made for every type of element they would come across.
