It's been a week. And you still haven't confessed.

Why?

Because of Kang fucking Haeun.

"Hey, sorry for being late." Seungcheol pants, sitting down across from you.

"No worries. Are you okay?" You take some tissue from your bag, dabbing his sweaty forehead.

"Yeah. I'm fine, just a little breathless from the running." He smiles lazily.

You laugh. "You didn't have to."

"I wanted to. I didn't like you alone when you shouldn't be." He replies.

You nod and smile softly at that. He was always so sweet.

"Where's Mingyu?" You shrug, trying to seem nonchalant.

"You know where he is." He rolls his eyes, obviously pissed as well by the situation.

"I mean it makes sense that the report is just two days from now, but still!" He exclaims.

"Yeah, I know what you mean." You mutter.

"And, I know I don't know why you hate her, like she's weird and all, but I just don't see it." You frown as he says that. "But come on! If you don't like her, then I'm loyal enough to know that I can't consume all my time with her."

"Thanks, Cheol." You smile softly. "You can calm down now."

"Why don't we eat first, then finish our report as well?" You offer, standing up.

"Okay." He sighs. "The past days have been stressful enough, so there better be good fucking food."

You chuckle at that.

After eating, you two head to the library and start finishing your report.

"Oh look! Mingyu-ah!" Seungcheol calls out, earning a few 'shhh's from people in the library.

Mingyu and Haeun spot you two, Mingyu smiling before heading to you guys.

"Hey. I'm so glad you saw me. It's been a while, hasn't it?" He chuckles.

"Well, that makes one of us." You mutter, not realizing he heard you.

He frowns. "Hyejin-ah."

You don't look up, you're hurt and you don't want to show it but you know you can't.

"Hyejin." He sighs. "I miss you."

With that your chest tightens and you snap your head up to look at him. "Really? Doesn't show."

You regret it the moment the words left your mouth, and you sigh but say no more.

Mingyu looks hurt. His eyes have turned glassy and the frown turned to a pained expression.

"Jinjin-ah. I'm sorry I just—"

"Mingyu-ah, let's go. A table's finally free." Haeun comes just in time to help you realize why you're angry in the first place.

"Yeah, Mingyu." Your face hardens. "Go."

He doesn't move and just stares at you. "The report's in two days. It's almost over."

You don't respond and just stare at him. Haeun starts pulling him away and he lets her.

I guess that's what your relationship has become — you watching her take him away.
