"Why the fuck didn't you tell me he was back?" You shouted, pacing back and forth.
You couldn't calm down even if you wanted to.
"Hyejin-ah. Please sit down!" Mingyu pleads, trying to get a hold of your wrist.
"I didn't know. He stayed he was staying in Japan for another week! I don't know what happened." He sighs.
"I ran as soon as we were dismissed. What's up?" Hansol says breathlessly.
You sit next to Mingyu, emotionally drained.
"She saw this guy named Wonwoo." Seungcheol says. "Someone important to her, I guess."
Hansol's expression visibly darkens. He kneels in front of you, grabbing your face to make you look at his.
"I don't care what you think you feel, Ji. I will not allow you to go through that again." Hansol angrily says. "You. Are. Over him."
You choke back a sob before hugging him.
You pull away and sigh, wiping your face.
"I'm so fucked up." You laugh darkly.
"So is he." Mingyu says seriously. "Never forget that."
You hear a phone ding and see Mingyu stand up.
"He asked to meet me. I'll get to the bottom of this." He looks at you. "I won't let you get hurt by him again, Hyejin. Trust me."
You nod, unable to verbally respond.
"I don't know him, but those tears in your face clearly say he is, and was never, worth it." Seungcheol pouts.
You laugh a little. "Thanks, Cheol."
Hansol moves to sit beside you, where Mingyu was seated at earlier, continuously rubbing your back soothingly.
"I thought you were okay." He sighs, clearly pained by your current state.
"I thought so, too." You sniff. "He left me! He left me for another girl. He was the jerk."
"So why, after all this time, is it me crying and him okay?" You ask.
"It meant you loved him, Hyejin-ah." Seungcheol says. "And it isn't a bad thing to love."
"Hello?" Hansol answers his phone before you respond.
"Oh. Shit." He pulls his hair slightly. "Okay. Bye."
"They broke up." Hansol gets straight to the point, confirming that it was Mingyu on the line. "That's why he left Japan early. He was supposed to stay a week, just the two of them."
He continues. "Also, Mr. Jeon and Ms. Kim are engaged. Wonwoo and Mingyu need to be there at the engagement party, three nights from now."
You nod, remembering that Mingyu and Wonwoo became bestfriends because their single parents decided to date. You were happy for them, but you just couldn't let it show.
