My alarm set on my phone wakes me up, causing me to groan in frustration. After yesterday and the week off from school, I don't want to get out of bed. I turn off my alarm and shove my pillow over my head for a few more minutes. When I decide to get up from my bed, I check my phone and see that it's 6:30am. I have 30 minutes to get ready.
I go into the bathroom that's connected to my room to clean myself up. Once I finish up in the bathroom, I put on my uniform and place my hair in a quick ponytail. I then add some light makeup to my face, really just mascara and lip gloss. I don't like to out do myself with makeup like some of the girls in my class feel the need to do.
I check myself in the mirror and pull out a strand of hair from my ponytail on each side of my face. "We need to go now or else you'll be late," my dad yells from outside my door. I quickly put my shoes on, then grab my backpack from the corner of the room and take the book out from my drawer and shove it into my bag. I then rush downstairs and out the door into the car.
If you're wondering, I usually don't eat breakfast in the morning just because I'm never hungry this early in the morning. I also have a reason to take my book to school than to rather leave it at home. I'm afraid of my parents or brother reading it while I'm at school. That's the last thing I need in my life.
We get to the school and my brother and I say goodbye to our dad as he drives off. I walk into school and straight to my locker to get my books for the first half of the day. "Hey Y/N!" Abby says all bubbly. She's always been a morning person, while me on the other hand, I struggle with staying awake this early. "Hey Abby, what's up?" I respond back to her. "Nothing much. Hey look over there, it's your mans. He's talking to Leah," She says. I take my head out of my locker and look to where Abby was pointing. Usually I wouldn't care but it was Leah, miss popular queen bee who runs the whole school, or at least she thinks that. Nobody likes her or wants to be her friend, by nobody I mean nobody. But she always has a hatred towards everyone.
"I don't care, she can do whatever she wants," I say back. "What do you mean, you're not gonna go over there and help him?" "Not today Abby," I say with a bit of annoyance. "Did something happen?" She asks. "Nothing, I'm fine," I say starting to get angry. "Did you cry over him again?" As she said that my teeth clenched tight as tears threatened to fall down my face. I don't have to say anything, Abby comforts me with a hug. I suck in my tears and look over at Yedam. I see him look me in the eyes and I look away immediately. Since when does he bother to notice me now?
"Let's go to class, we're gonna be late," I say as I grab Abby's hand as I drag her with me, and I see Yedam is still watching me. We walk to our first period class as the first school bell rings signaling to get to class. Abby and I both have Physics first, unluckily Yedam has that class with us as well. He sits on the other side of the room from us though. We get to class right before the second bell rings saying that we're late.
We go through the rest of our day as it drags on. The bell for lunch rings as we rush out of our previous class. We go to our lockers and as I'm changing my books I start to freak out. I don't see my book about Yedam in my bag. I check through all the pockets of my bag and I still don't see it. I check my locker, fumbling through a bunch of books and papers while making a mess, and I don't see it. I go up to Abby whose locker is across from mine. I shake her arm, crying, "It's gone!!!"
"What's gone?"
"The book!!!!!"
"Oh no. Well, where do you last remember it being?"
"It's always been in my bag the whole day!!" I say frantically.
"Are you sure you didn't take it out somewhere?"
"I'm pretty sure I didn't," I say in frustration.
"Calm down and try to think," Abby says soothingly.
"Alright, Alright."I try to rethink my steps throughout the day. Then it came to me. When I was looking for my Italian dictionary I had to take everything out of my bag to find it. I left The book under my chair in Italian class. "I know where it is!!!" I yell at Abby as I run as fast as I can to Italian class. I ask my teacher if she found a red book. "Yes, someone took it on their way out." "Do you remember who it was?" I ask persistently. "I'm not sure, I wasn't really paying attention since I was grading papers." " Ugghhhhh," I cry out in frustration. "All I remember is that it was a boy with black hair who took it." My heart starts to race thinking who it might be.
I walk out of the classroom and back to Abby waiting at my locker. "Find it?" She asks. "Nope. But I think I know who has it." "Who?" She asks in excitement. "Yedam," I say in a really low voice. "Who?" She asks not hearing my voice. "Yedam," I say a bit louder. "No, it can't be. He wouldn't." "It seems like it might be. I'm really hoping it's not," I say with fear in my voice, ready to cry.
I grab my backpack off the floor and start to head on off to lunch. While walking, someone behind me pulls my hand. Abby continues walking not noticing anything. I turn around and stare into the person's eyes with fear and total shock. My heart starts to race really fast. It was Yedam.
