"Harper, jump!"
"No!"
The wind pulls my hair off of my face and whips my shoulder. I stood at the top of the small canyon, afraid to jump, afraid to fall.
"Come on!"
I closed my eyes. No! I couldn't find my voice. It left with the wind, flying away, and it was taking my courage with it. Come back, I need you.
I opened my eyes and looked at the man below me.
"I'll catch you!"
No.
I closed my eyes again and inhaled deeply. I opened my eyes and focused on the otherside.
"Harper, Goddamnit, just jump!"
Taking a few steps back, I started to run. I reached the edge, planted my feet, and jumped.
