"Harriet can we please talk?" I asked her. This time I grabbed her arm so she wouldn't run. "Fine go in there." She pointed to an office off of the stage. I shook my head and dragged her into the room. "Harriet I don't know what I was thinking kissing you. It was dumb and stupid and I apologize. I should have done it. I don't deserve to be your friend, because that kiss was so against your religion and I am sorry." I said to her. She looked shocked. Like what I said hurt her even more than the kiss. "Bella I-." She didn't know how to finish the sentence. "I don't care if it is against the world." She said as she pushed me against the wall and kissed me.
I didn't know what to do. I kissed her back. Wrapping my arms around her neck. Then I realized what was happening. "Wait Harriet. What about Matt? What about your bible?" I asked her my hands on her shoulders. "Fuck my bible and Matt and I were never going to work anyways." She leaned in and kissed you again. "Wait what about all the stuff about you being against the gays and the trans and everything?" I asked her. "It was wrong. Now shut up and let me kiss you." She said. I was speechless. Hannah Harriet Hayes was kissing me. The woman I have had a crush on for literal years was kissing me. I kissed back of course. She pulled away. "We should get back to the dressing room before people get suspicious." She said to me. "Yeah. I'll meet you down there."
As she left the room I slid down the wall. I never wanted life to be like this. I wanted to find someone that loved me and knew themself. I like Harriet I do but what is going to happen. It's not like she will tell the whole world she is dating a woman. She isn't like that. She won't tell people because she is to worried about other people and what they will think or do. Or what consistencies will come with her choices. She will put everyone else's opinions before her own. That is just how she was.
I stood up to leave the room and I took the pony tails that was on my wrist and tied up my hair. "God damn." I whispered to myself. I walked out of the room and towards the dressing room. "Hey Bella!" The guard from this morning was back at the desk. "Hiya!" I yelled back walking towards him. "You know the walls aren't sound proof right?" He asked me. "Ahh. Oh my god. Please don't tell anyone." I begged him. "Don't worry your secret's safe with me." He said putting his hand to his heart. "Thank you." I said turning around and running to the dressing rooms.
I ran down the stairs almost falling on every one of them. I jumped off of the last two and ran into a stage runner. I finally made it to my dressing room. I knocked on the door Incase Harriet was changing. "Come in." She said. I opened the door and walked through closing it almost immediately after walking through. "Oh it's just you. Okay." She said. I threw a pillow from the couch at her. "Oh it's just me?" I laughed. "Oh it's on." She threw the pillow back at me. Hitting me square in the face. "Hey what's going on in here?" Genie asked as I threw a pillow at Harriet which missed and hit Genie instead. "I threw a pillow at Harriet." I said. "Yeah I see that. I just came in to tell you two to be quiet because Jeeter is taking a nap." She said leaving the room closing the door behind her. "Oops." I said looking at Harriet. We just burst out laughing.
"I think I am going to take a nap too." I said closing the blinds. And turning off the light. "Hmm. Maybe I'll join you." Harriet whispered. "Haha. Your funny. Go home Harriet." I said. "No I'm okay." She said as I laid down on the couch. She walked over and kneeled in front of my face. "Goodnight." She said giving me a kiss. I kissed her back before closing my eyes. I heard her stand and pull the blanket off of the back of the couch. "Here." She whispered before laying the blanket on me. I fell asleep almost immediately.
I didn't realize how tired I really was. Being somewhere new with new people and not knowing where anything is. Is exhausting. Learning names. Learning places. Learning names of places. Everything made me so tired. I fell asleep on the couch. Harriet's couch to be exact. I really hoped that when I woke up it wouldn't have been a dream. That would suck.
I woke up I don't even know how many hours later. I sat up and wrapped the blanket around my shoulders. Harriet was asleep in the chair next to the couch. Her script was open on her chest. I pulled it off putting it on her desk and grabbed the other blanket on the couch and draped it over her body.
I took my phone out of my pocket and looked at the time. It was 11:34 pm. I arrived there at 9:00 am. I had been asleep for six and a half hours. Which would normally be enough for me, but I still felt exhausted.
I slowly opened the door so it wouldn't make any noise and walked to the little kitchen area. I poured myself some hot water and grabbed a tea bag. I poured some sugar into the water and put the tea bag in it. I then walked back into the room and grabbed my script. I set the tea down and began to read them.
I was doing the news with Harriet this week and crazy christians. That was it. I read my lines over and over until I could remember them without looking at the script. I pulled the blanket back up to my shoulders and laid back down on the couch. I saw harriets hand hanging off of the chair. I laid in a position that I could hold her hand and sleep comfortably at the same time. I fell asleep again. This time I didn't wake up until the morning.
