Chapter 4: No

You shut down your computer. No way was that really Ben. Unless he was talking through technology from the grave. But that can't be true. You don't believe in that sort of stuff. Well, maybe you'll end up changing your mind. I mean, how can you have that happen and manage to pass it off as a coincidence? You took a few deep breaths as you glanced over to the Nintendo 64. The game was still inside. You took it out and hid it under the bed in an old shoe box. You didn't want to look at it right now, so you decided to play some Super Paper Mario.

You played for around three hours. You then started remembering a nice memory of how you'd watch Ben beat a game in three hours. Then the images of his body appeared in his mind, so you just decided to not play the game anymore. You saved it and went on Netflix to watch a few movies. You thought about watching The Blair Witch Project, but you remembered when you and Ben watched it and how you humiliated him about him peeing himself. There was nothing else for you to watch, until you saw that they added The Ring. It's been forever since you saw it, so you sat back and watched the movie. When it went to the part where the girl crawled out of the well, a black out occurred. The TV screen then lit up.

On the screen was the lake Ben drowned in. You then saw a boy in a Link costume crawl out of the water and stand up. He walked in your direction. He stopped when his face was in clear view. It was Ben, and he had some sort of black substance dripping from his eyes, which were black with piercing bright red pupils. He then began to crawl out of the screen, like the girl did. Once he entered the room, he stood up and stared at you. Your (E/C) eyes were wide in horror as the hairs on the back of your neck stood on end. Ben crouched down to your level.

"I'm only gonna ask you one more time. Are you happy now?" he asked in a slightly demanding and hostile voice. You felt tears fill your eyes as you looked down, the tears falling onto the floor.

"No. No I'm not happy," you sobbed. You felt his hand on your cheek as he lifted your head. He smiled a sweet smile as his appearance changed. His Link outfit turned into a white shirt, green vest, black jeans, and green Triforce sneakers. The outfit he died in. His eyes returned to their original sky blue colour and the black tears dried up and faded away.

"That's all I wanted to hear from you (Y/N)," he said in a gentle voice as his lips connected to yours.

You awoke as the credits of the movie appeared on the screen. It was a dream? No. You know you saw Ben. You know he kissed you. You know he loved you. But, the reality is that he was never with you. He was good and dead. You then saw a note on the ground. The note from the broken piggy bank. You looked at it. The message was different and so emotionally overpowering you cried.

It was his new and last message to you.
