Chapter 2: Blood-Stained Memories

My wolf is going crazy. My brother had just died in front of me. The two rogues looked at each other and then pounced on me. My wolf rolled and the rogues jumped onto each other. My wolf stands up and bolts into the trees. She's taking me home. I look around. There's dead wolves and blood everywhere. The Beta and Beta female are both dead on the ground. Dirt and blood mats their fur. I call through the mind link.
Mom? Dad?
No answer.
Anybody?
Just then, I hear a twig snap. I turn around to see the main warrior of our pack. He trains all the wolves with the Beta, Luna, and Alpha. He's bleeding very badly. My wolf goes over and sniff him. He looks back with worried eyes. He knows my wolf is in control.
Shadow. You need to get back in control.
My wolf growls.
Shadow, please.
I shake my head, fighting for control. Both me and my wolf want vengeance.
My wolf won't let go. I try to speak to him, but our voices mold together. My wolf and I have reached a harmony. A point of no return. I was one with my wolf, and would be forevermore. My wolf speaks through the mind link.
I will not be able to let go of control now.
The head warriors eyes grow wide. He growls.
Get away from here! You're a danger to the pack now, at least what's left of it.
Supposedly, when you become one with your wolf, your eyes turn purple. I can see my eyes in his, and now I know the legend is true. I whine. I can't leave my family. My parents. He growls again.
Leave here, and never return!
I bow my head, turn around, and fly into the woods. My wolf talks to me.
My name is Moon. I didn't get to introduce myself earlier due to the attack. I am your wolf, I will protect you.
I whimper. I miss my family.
Do not worry, pup, in a few short years, these will be all but blood-stained memories.
