Shadow's POV
I'm still waiting outside for my dumb mates. Coen looks pi-, oops, angry. Callum looks incredibly sad. Like the face when you find out that your favorite Wattpad story is ending.
...
(This just happened to me so now I mourn.)
...
And yes, I read some books on Wattpad when I was still human. Sheesh....
Time skip to 1 1/2 days later...

I've been wandering around the territory looking for something to do. All these wolves, but still no interaction. It's always work. I just want some attention from well, anyone. Ok no not anyone. My mates. I whimper. I know I can't really do anything interesting, but Goddess above! I'm their mate and they act like I don't exist. Just because one measly feral killed their dad doesn't mean they have to hate on me.
And to top all that off, Moon is gone. Like seriously. I swear she disappeared into thin air.
I walk away from watching the pack house, when I smell those dirty things on my land. Rogues!
I howl, as I did before. This one is strained, proving the importance. All the strong and able wolves report this time. Males and females. Cool.
I growl and turn, running to the edge of the land. A rogue instantly rips into my flesh with their dagger-like teeth. All the rogues are coming to me since I'm the first one here. I let out a battle cry and then all the wolves from Blue Moon and my mates rush forward. The rogues that can retreat, being the scared annoyances they are, do. I can feel myself losing control again due to anger. I won't let it. I have to fight.
All the rogues are gone now, except for the one I'm fighting. All the wolves gather, watching my technique. Everything I do I precise, wowing the crowd. I definitely can't lose control in front of the twins, who's father was killed by a bloodthirsty feral. I need to finish this wolf off quickly, before I can't keep my head on.
Ok, think. You're smaller than this wolf, but yet faster. Use this to your advantage.
The rogue lunges for me, and I counter, jumping over it's body. It snarls and lunges again, this time nipping my ankle. At least, it felt like a nip. I try to put my weight on it, and almost fall over from the pain. I left my paw up and put it against my chest.
Ok, 3 legs to go, I can do this.
The rogue uses my disability against me. He comes over and grabs my scruff. I fall to the floor, and right before he grabs my wind pipe in his teeth, I kick him in the nose while rolling to the side. He shakes his head, and rubs his bloodied nose.
Wow. I can really kick.
He comes for me and then I pull out my tree climbing skills. I run onto a tree and flip onto the rogue, landing on his back. I hear a crunching noise, followed by dead silence.
The rogue is dead. I get off of its corpse and put my head close to the ground. I'm panting, but smiling. I won. I proved that I can stay in control of myself during battle. I look up and see many eyes, staring back at me. I forgot I had an audience.
Alpha Richard, Samuel, and my mates look at me in disbelief. I'm a wolf with who seems to have no power, but I just killed a wolf 4 times my size. I hold my head high with pride. I then turn and run to my meadow, the 4 following me. I'm running on 3 legs, and am still moving faster than the males. No joke, I can hear them panting behind me. Like before, I said being smaller can be used as an advantage.
I stop when I reach the meadow. It's peaceful here.
My own scent is calming to me. It's built up for 5 years and it makes me feel safe. Other wolves know not to enter here, they can smell how long I've lived here.
The males follow me and stop at the boarder to my territory. I nod my head, allowing them entry.
Alpha Richard and Sam pass through without thought. My mates think for a minute before they finally step over the line. The walk towards me in their beautiful wolf forms that make my heart ache. I sigh, softly. I'm content for once in my miserable life. All the guys look at me after I sigh.
I untuck my paw from myself and whine. It's very painful. My pristine, white fur is matted and bloody. I start to lick my paw, cleaning the wound, knowing if I don't it'll become infected. I've had enough infections in my life. It stings to lick my paw. Even my own saliva's against me. I feel 3 life forms surround me. Ugh. I look up and the males are crowded around me, all looking worried. I can't seem to tell Coen and Callum apart. 'Tis is going to be a problem.
Did you seriously just say 'Tis?
Oh well look who came crawling back to me! Long time no TALK, Moon.
I roll my eyes and blocked her out. So now she wants to talk? Yeah, no way. Forget that. She thinks she can just waltz in and out of my life and then try to joke around with me. Seriously? Idiot.
It really hurts me that she just left me with no explanation. Maybe I can let her explain later.
I go back to licking my paw, when one of the twins - I'm guessing Callum, due to the fact that Coen seems a little distant - comes over and licks my head. I immediately stop my work and look up at him. The other twin - I'm putting my non-existent money on Coen - growls. Callum gives me another lick on the nose. I cock my head. Callum bows his head to me, and then I do something I don't even expect. I lick him back....
