As I await for the girls to arrive, I wait with Holland.

"Why are you even friends with these backstabbing bitches?" Holland asks as she passes me her cup.

We made ourselves a drink of vodka and pineapple juice. Easy on the vodka.

"They're my kind." I snort, referring to the Daydreamers. Why am I even friends with them? Talia is the only one I really like now.

"No, but Talia is cool. She's really selfless. Josie is a bitch. As is Tessa. Becka wasn't exactly my cup of tea. I mean I got along with them all at times but sometimes it's just like-" "These people aren't Holland!" Holland laughs.

I laugh along. "Exactly." I lean my head on her shoulder and take a drink.

"Do you think anything will happen tonight?" I ask.

Holland sits uneasy. She takes the cup from me and finishes it off.

"I would like to think nothing would and that we were normal juniors at a normal high school party."

"We haven't been normal for a while now." I laugh.

"Let's try before the skitches get here. Come on, you love this song." She pulls me up.

I eye her. "This is a slow song. A love song."

"I know." She smiles, pulling me up.

She pulls me through the crowd until she smiles at me, despite my protests.

Before I knew it, Dylan was leading me into dance.

"What are you doing?" I laugh.

"Shut up and dance." Holland joins us, but with Alex.

I look up at Dylan and smile.

"How can I love, when I'm afraid to fall?" I sing to him.

He smiles and spins me.

"One.. step... closer." I press my lips to his.

"I'll love you for a thousand more." I whisper when I pull away. He smiles.

"This is my first dance with a boy you know." I laugh.

"Well then I'm glad it was with me." His lips tickle my ear.

"I will always love you, shortcake."

I roll my eyes.

"You kinda have to idiot."

He smiles and grips my waist tighter, pulling my body against his.

"Sing to me again."

I lean up on my tippy toes and rest my head on his shoulder, quietly singing him the melody.

"Allison's here." Dylan pulls back.

Once again, the weight of the world is on my shoulders.

"You can do this." He leans down and kisses my forehead.

But can I really?

T-minus seven minutes until our plan takes action.

"I think he's cute." Allison giggles to a boy standing in the corner texting.
