*Two weeks later*
"Are you going to homecoming?" Alex asks. Yeah, Alex is back. I made Dylan go talk to him but it was well worth it. We were coping, together.
"I doubt it."
"Why?"
"It's not Dylan's thing. He ditched last year to go to a motor-cross competition, remember?" "Oh yeah! We hung out that night watching movies." "Bad ones may I add." I laugh. "Hey they weren't that bad." he closes his science book. We weren't doing work anyways.
"Alex we watched Twilight." "You love Twilight!" "Yeah, watching it. Reading it. All I did was hear your bad commentary's."
"Hey dudes shouldn't sparkle, just saying." I laugh at him. "We need to do that again sometime." "Yeah, maybe for this homecoming? I'm sure Dylan will ditch me anyways." I shrug. But I couldn't be mad. It's just who Dylan is.
"You've got yourself a date."

"Carter Evans and Dylan Mace to the office."
Dylan and I glance at each other from across the room. While I was frozen in my seat, anxiety eating me alive, Dylan gathered his math books from the front and gestured me to follow him. I sigh and follow.
"What did you do this time?" I eye him. "Nothing!" I know his combination of laughing and smiling, it's a tell that he's actually lying.
"Dylan!" I groan. Last time Dyl got me in trouble, I was grounded for two weeks!
"It'll be fine, trust me!" Trust Dylan? Psh! I squeak when dylan tugs my arm and pulls me out of the front doors. "Dylan the office is inside! You're going to get me suspended! Let go!" I yell at him.
He ignores and pulls me through the hate to the soccer field. I freeze when I see the various football boys and cheerleaders holding up signs
"Will... You... Go... To... Homecoming... With... Me... Shortcake?"
Then at the end, two cheerleaders were doing a shoulder-sit, and held a gigantic ruler with the tip ending at 6'2. That was Dylan's height. The top of the ruler said, "Must be this tall to say no." in big, bold, red letters.
I cover my mouth. "Will you?" Dylan asks. I nod frantically and wrap my arms around him. The two sports teams cheer.
"You idiot! Why did you go through all this trouble?" "Because you're worth it." I kiss his cheek. "Best boyfriend ever?" He asks, resting his hands on my hips.
I nod. Best boyfriend ever.
"I have to admit, you guys are cute together." A cheerleader walks over. "Really? Thank you!" I smile and wrap my arm around Dylan's waist.
