Dear Mr. Lee, I simply just want to thank you.
For a long time, I felt ignored. I felt like a freak because I was different. I felt alone. For a long time, I was depressed, and when I discovered your work it made me smile. It allowed me to separate myself from the horror of reality and be transported into a world of magic and genius and superheroes, a world that brought me joy, even if it was just for five minutes a day.
Stan Lee, you are the father of all of those heroes, which makes you the greatest hero of all. You gave me a world that I could love. You made it possible for me to smile and see the good in others. I learned forgiveness and courage. Your work and your outgoing love didn't only become a beacon of light for me, but for millions of others like me. We love you Stan Lee, and we will always love and miss you. Since childhood, you've held a special place in my heart.
