Kimmon woke up to the sound of the alarm. He is needed early at work as the staff on the opening shift is on vacation leave today. He got off the bed and stretched. He still have an hour to prepare. He grabbed his phone on the bedside table and dialed his mother's number.

"Good evening, Ma." He greeted. It is currently 7 pm at Thailand a 12 hours difference from where he live now.

"You finally called." His mother exclaimed. "I'm so worried about you."

"Sorry, Ma. I've been very busy these past few days." He explained. "I told you not to worry. I'm doing good here in LA."

"You can't blame me if I'm always worried about you. You are so far from us."

He heard it all before but he is not blaming his mother. He actually feels ashame burdening his mother when she is already old. "Sorry, Ma. This time I promised to call everyday." He promised again like many times before. He heard his mother sighed. 'Sorry for having a troublesome son, Ma.' He wanted to add but that would just make her more sad so he opted to keep quiet.

"Okay." His mother answered just like before. "Kim? Can I at least tell Bas your phone number?" His mother suddenly asked. "He was back again last Sunday asking about you. You know how that kid look up to you as his big brother. He'd been through a lot this year and I bet he wished you were here."

"The guys are there with him, Ma." He simply answered.

"But his P'Kim is different. He often tells when he go here. You know the rest already gave up on ever finding something about you from me but that kid still goes here and keep asking about you."

He smiled on how his mother still call Bas a 'kid' when his nong is already 25 years old. "I'll think about it." He answered and heard his mother sighed again.

"Kim, it's been five years. Maybe you can come home now."

This is new. He never ever heard his mother tell him to go home.

"Copter is doing fine now. This is all about him right?"

"Ma..."

"It is just so unfair seeing him here doing fine when you are there so very far from us." His mother said. "It was not your fault. I know back then Copter loves you and it was his own decision to love you."

"I don't want to talk about this, Ma." He sadly answered.

"But this is not you. The son I know will bravely face everything and not runaway. You had been living in the past for five years and this is not how I want you to be." Her mother frustratingly said on the other line. "Just think about it okay?"

He ended the call with a heavy heart. Calling his mother had been his source of encouragement but not today. He sighed.

'Can I really go home now?'

He had been living in Los Angeles for five years. The moment he left Beijing after he and Copter broke up he knew he can no longer stay in Thailand. How can he completely let him go when everything in Thailand reminded him of Copter. He started planning. He talked to his cousin Sean who is currently living in Los Angeles. When he agreed to let him live on his house he requested Sean to start looking for jobs for him. Contrary to what others believe it was not his fight with Tee that made him leave. He was already all set in leaving Thailand when they had their misunderstanding. Although his mother told him Tee went to their house to apologize to him only to find out his P' is already gone.

His mother is correct he had been living in the past. He tried so hard to forget everything but while the mind can repress unwanted memories and hurtful feelings the heart will remind you of every good memories and feelings. He was not able to move on.
