When I went to check on my daughter three days ago, she wasn't in her room, or anywhere else. I called the police and told them the last time I saw her was 2 1/2 hours ago in her room, and I didn’t know when she left. Seeing as I was at the grocery store, doing my weekly shopping, I wouldn’t have known what was going on at the house. They said they would send out a search party and see what they could do. I had helped look for her a couple days ago, but the only thing I had found was this decrepit, oldbunny doll, with stitches showing, that had arrived for her in the mail from an unknown sender. There was also a note that had "για να βρείτε αυτό που λείπει, κοιτάξτε τι έχει ήδη βρεθεί" written on it. I gave the note to the police, but I kept the doll and took it home, wanting to put it in her room for when she came home. Now three days later and not a word from the police.
It's 8 am and I was finishing off a bowl of Lucky Charms when the phone rang. I ran to the phone and picked it up, "Hello?" I said anxiously.
"Hi, yes, I'm Officer Barren, calling to speak to Ms. Aria Wilson about the note she found during the search for her daughter."
" This is her."
" Okay, so we have translated the noted and wanted you to come to the station to look at it and see if you can help find out what it means."
" Of course I will! I'll be there in 10 minutes!" I say happily.
After I hung up the phone, I ran to my room and changed, then ran downstairs and out the door with my keys to the car.
Pulling into the station, the officers are pouring out of the doors like ants. I power walk to the desk and ask for Officer Barren. The receptionist happily told me where to find him in the back of the station. I walk into the room the girl told me to and find Officer Barren and a few other Officers surrounding a table with the note I found in the woods with the doll.
Officer Barren turns around and says, "Hello Ms. Wilson." He points to the officer on his right, "This is Officer James and.." He points to the officer on his left, "This is Officer Joel"
James has short, chocolate brown hair, with deep blue eyes you could drown in, he's about 6'0 with a slight muscle build up. Joel has long black hair and she has deep, brown eyes, and is like 5'7 with a tiny bit of muscle on her arms. "Hello, I guess you already know who I am..." Aria said slowly.
"Yes", the two officers spoke in unison.
"Alright then, here's the note you found in the woods" Officer Barren said pointing to the table, breaking the awkwardness in the air like a stick.
I walk over to the table with the note on it
" You said you guys translated it?"
"Oh yea, here is the translation", he said pointing to the sentence written under the language she was unable to read.
The sentence said, "To find what is missing, look at what's already found.".
I started thinking aloud, "could "what is missing" be my daughter and" what's already found" be the doll and the note?".
"Doll?", they all asked.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you about the doll, didn’t I?" I question.
"Um....yes, yes you did" Officer James states unsure.
"Well, I found this note attached to a bunny doll that my daughter received in the mail by an unknown source, so I kept the doll and took it to the house and placed it on her bed for when she came home" My voice sounds sad and despondent and my face looks disheartened, but I try to hide it with a smile.
Officer Barren spoke softly, " It's okay Aria, we are going to find her"
" I think I already have..." I whisper uncomfortably
"What do you mean?" They all ask in confusion.
" This note says my daughter IS the doll" I say running out if the station.
