My New Neighbour

Chapter 10

Tee returns to his home late at night. He enters his bedroom and is tempted to open and look out his window to see Tae. But he does not. He washes up quickly and sits on his bed as he is still not sleepy.

Tee fiddles with his mobile phone and he can see the unread message from Tae flashing on the screen ready to be opened. All day Tee wanted to concentrate only on his work and not think about Tae but it still turned out so that Tae was always on the back of his mind. Maybe that's the reason he still cannot sleep.

Tae does not want me to be a distraction to him then I would not be one. But he still manages to distract me plenty.

Tee thinks that if he opens the bedroom window then maybe fresh air would help with clearing his mind and he could sleep.

This is not because I want to see Tae, just get fresh air.. fresh air..

Tee can clearly see Tae's room with lights still on and Tae sitting on his study table with a thick book in front of him. But Tae is not reading the book, instead he has his phone in hand with a frown on his forehead as if deep in thought about something.

Tee wonders, "This idiot is not studying, just staring at his phone! And he says that he is good at studying... but what if Tae is waiting for me to reply to his message?"

Quickly Tee opens the message, reads through it and stares at it for a few seconds.

Don't be a distraction to me, be my motivation! That's what I wanted to tell you. Don't stay angry with me. My exams are coming up. I need your help to score well.

Then he slowly shakes his head while smiling and looks out his bedroom window again.

Tae has put his phone aside and is so deep in thought that he does not realise that Tee is watching him from his bedroom window.

Tee leaves his bedroom and walks to Tae's house. He rings the bell. After a few seconds, Tae opens the door with a frown on his face which instantly turns to a shock and then a wide grin on his face when he sees Tee standing at his main door.

Without saying anything, Tae pulls Tee inside and grabs him close and kisses him. Tee kisses him back instinctively even though he did not come with the intention to kiss Tae.

Tae deepens the kiss as his hands hold Tee as close to his body as possible. Tee holds on to Tae's shoulders as Tae pulls Tee up and kisses Tee's nose and whispers, "I missed you... so much."

Tee is still not ready to completely forgive Tae so he says, "I just came because of your message. You practically begged me to come here to help you with your exams."

Tae grins and says, "So you finally saw my message!"

Tee glares at Tae, "Of course, I had to see it, you kept staring at your phone instead of studying. I thought you were waiting for me to reply so I thought I will put you out of your misery and read it at least."

Tae laughs and says,"So what's your reply?"

Tee replies, "I came here, didn't I? What more do you want as a reply?"

Tae pulls Tee closer and kisses him on his cheek.

Tee pushes Tae away and says, "Stop kissing me! You have to prepare for your exams so why aren't you studying?"

Tae says, "I was studying but couldn't concentrate well because you were so angry at me."

Tee sits down at the study table, glances through the books and asks Tae about which subjects he is weak at and what help does he need exactly?

Tae sits on his bed and looks at Tee as he goes through his books. Tae pulls him on the bed and says, "Listen to me first. (makes Tee sit on his lap) I am getting bored of the studies and my grades have been slipping slowly (Tee turns around to glare at Tae and Tae laughs shamelessly as he continues speaking) but not so much that it is a cause of concern."

Tee scolds him, "So I was right, you are not studying properly and you are playing around far too much."

Tae tenses up, then lets out a sigh and says, "...My dad was putting too much pressure on me and I was getting frustrated and bored at my parents' house... and please listen to me first before saying things like playing around too much.."

Tee suddenly feels like he should not act like Tae's father and just listen to him properly and help in anyway that he can. So Tee listens intently to Tae as he continues, "We both were always at loggerheads as he wanted me to only focus on studies and not waste my time on anything else. My brother could see that I was getting more and more rebellious as I studied less and less simply because my dad was not allowing me to spend my time with my friends and ... well.. to do fun stuff.."

Tee rolls his eyes at "fun stuff" as he had seen a lot of his fun time with girls earlier in the room!

Tae chuckles as he thinks he understands what Tee must be thinking. So Tae decides to stop beating around the bush and say what he really wants to say to Tee.

"What you think is distraction for me can actually be my motivation, don't you think?"

Tee frowns and asks, "What do you mean?"

Tae smiles and pulls Tee to kiss him and says, "You... you are my distraction and my motivation.. I will get high grades so just give me regular rewards. This way I will not feel bored of my studies rather I will look forward to the exams because later I will have ... you."

Tee looks at Tae with a surprised look on his face and says, "And here I thought you wanted my help with tutoring or something! You cheeky brat! What do you think of me? A prize at the end of a competition?"

Tae sulks and says, "I'm not good with words.. I end up offending you either ways.. but I want you to be with me and not leave me."
