My New Neighbour

Chapter 8

At Kim and Bas's bar,

Godt and Cop decide to grab this opportunity of talking freely with Bas and Kim as they don't know if they would get a next chance like this in the future.

As the conversation flows naturally, the five people including Manee finalise the plans for Valentine's day party.

Godt jokes that it is funny that he and Cop are helping with planning a Valentine's party when they themselves are single.

Kim says, "Then by that logic even Bas and I should not be planning this party. I got an idea, why don't we leave this party planning to Manee and all four of us just enjoy singles party afterwards."

All the guys applaud the singles after party idea while Manee makes a grim face :| as she realises that she would be the one to plan the party.

Finally it is decided that Godt and Cop will come as special guests of Kim and Bas as they helped out in planning the party. But it is also because they are fun to be around.

Manee rolls her eyes when she sees that everyone is basically up for fun but dumping all the work on her! But she also feels relieved to look at her elder brother enjoying himself after a long time otherwise it is always work, work and work for him and Bas.

The numbers are exchanged before everyone departs as it gets late enough to close the pub.

In the meanwhile,

At Tae's house,

Tae says, "Don't be a distraction to me ..."

Tee gets shocked hearing this and instantly storms out of the place.

Tae says, "Wait, Tee!"

Tae tries to stop him but Tee does not stop and just leaves him standing by the main door.

Tae mumbles to himself as Tee is no longer in sight, "You didn't let me finish... but if you think that you are only a distraction to me, you don't understand how I feel about you... then what's the point?"

Tae feels dejected as he enters his bedroom. He calls up Manee and wants to share about what happened but Manee sounds quite excited and she rattles off all that they talked after both Tae and Tee had left. So Tae just listens to what Manee says for a long time.

After Manee no longer has anything to say, she asks Tae if there was a reason why he had called her. But Tae just says no and they say goodbye to each other.

Tae looks outside his window but Tee's window is closed and the lights are off. Tae sends a message to Tee before sleeping late into the night.

The next day, Tee does not open his window. He quickly gets ready and leaves for the hospital. Tae's message remains unread and unanswered.

Tae thinks that he has already told Tee what he wanted to tell him in that message. It is up to Tee now whether he wants to understand him or not.

Yesterday night, Tee had spoken a few words without listening to Tae's side and Tae had said something that he should not have or maybe he didn't get to finish what he wanted to say.

At the hospital, during lunch time, Godt and Cop are excited about the parties that they would be attending along with Kim and Bas so they fill in all the details to Tee that he had missed because he left early. Tee just nods listlessly.

Both Godt and Cop jokingly ask him if he is tired because his lower back might be hurting. Tee just gives them a blank look and finishes his lunch quietly and goes back to his desk.

Many times, throughout the day, Tee had wanted to read the message that Tae had sent but he didn't because he didn't want to be swayed by Tae's message.

The whole day passes by and neither Tee nor Tae contact each other.

Tee gets in his car and takes the road to go to his home. But suddenly he does not want to go home. He stops the car by the side of the road and thinks for a while. He is still angry at Tae so he does not want to see or talk to him. But he still wants to talk to someone about Tae and know more about him.

"Why I want to know more about him after the way he spoke to me!?" Tee thinks.

"But I still don't know so much about Tae and I want to know... maybe Manee can help me."

Tee calls up Manee and asks her if they can meet. Manee is helping out her brother, Kim at the pub so she calls him over there.

Manee figures out from Tee's voice that something is off so she calls up Tae to ask if he did something to upset P'Tee.

Tae is surprised to hear this from Manee, "Why are you asking me that? Did you talk to Tee?"

Manee says, "Yes, he is coming over to the pub to meet me. Yesterday everyone could see that he was upset because of you and it seems you did not handle it well even after leaving together. Otherwise why would he want to meet me so soon? Am I right?"

Tae just sighs and says, "Yes, I think I screwed up."

Manee scolds him, "Then don't sigh in front of me, go and settle things between yourselves... But do that after I meet P'Tee. Don't come barging in here before he has a chance to talk to me... Maybe I shouldn't have talked to you before meeting him. I'm sure you will come running."

Tae ends up smiling at what Manee said because he did feel like running there to meet his Tee. But he agrees to what Manee said and he finally tells her everything that had happened yesterday. Manee just slaps her hand on the forehead and tells, "Seriously, you guys are so immature! I will call you later, P'Tee must be on his way here."

Tee reaches the pub and Manee leads him to a corner seat to talk.
