Around half an hour after Lydia and Rebekah started getting their hair and makeup done for the ball, Lydia received a text from her sister asking for help which automatically made her think she was hurt. So with her hair all done up and only one hand of nails done, Lydia ran out of the Mikaelson Mansion and drove all the way to the Forbes household. But imagine her surprise when she ran into Caroline's bedroom only to see her perfectly fine.

"What the hell Care?!" Lydia yelled. "I thought something was seriously wrong!"

"Something is seriously wrong!" Caroline retorted.

The baby blonde vampire took her invitation from her bed and showed it to her sister before picking up the dress that Lydia helped Nik pick for her.

"This... Klaus invited me to his family's ball and look what he wrote on the back!" Caroline said before shoving the invite in her sister's hands.

Save me a dance.

Fondly, Klaus.

Lydia smiled at the words, this was not something he told her about. The red-haired girl laughed slightly before throwing the invitation back on Caroline's bed.

"Why are you laughing? I'm in real crisis mode!" Caroline said to her sister.

"Because I helped Nik pick that dress for you," Lydia said, making the girl pause her freak out. "But I didn't know he was writing to you on the invite."

"Wait... You're saying you helped Klaus plan this?"

Lydia nodded, moving over to sit on her bed next to the blue dress that would fit Caroline perfectly.

"Look, Nik is really trying with you. He was so worried when I asked him about it earlier." The red-haired girl said. "Why is it such a big deal?"

"I..." Caroline stuttered, not really knowing what to say. "I don't know, it just is."

"Or maybe you're just worried what everyone else is going to say when they find out the 'big bad Hybrid' asked you to the ball." Lydia confronted.

Caroline didn't say anything, just looked at the dress and the invite that lay on her bed. Lydia sighed before getting up and grabbing her sisters shoulders, moving her so they are face to face.

"Wear the dress, or don't wear it. Go to the ball, or don't go." Lydia started. "It doesn't matter what you do as long as you make sure you're doing it for you and not for anyone else. Don't not do something just because you're afraid of how everyone is going to react... Just do whatever will make you happy, little sister." Lydia finished.

"How do you always know what to say?" Caroline whispered to her sister.

"Because I'm older and wiser." Lydia joked before pulling the blonde into a hug.

The two Forbes sisters stood there for a few moments, just standing in the middle of the room and holding on to each other so tightly as if they were afraid the other would disappear at any second. Lydia was the first to pull back and she smoothed out her baby sister's hair.

"Well, I have to get back to the Mikaelson's to finish getting ready," Lydia said. "I left halfway through when you text me."

"Sorry." Caroline laughed slightly.

"I'll see you tonight."

Lydia kissed her sister on the head before leaving the room, her exit calmer than her entrance. She left Caroline standing in her bedroom, contemplating what to do while her sister was driving back to hang out at the Mikaelson Manor.
