Elijah was currently walking through one of the long corridors in the Mikaelson Mansion. He was on his way to his brother's room, to ask about what they should do about their mother's plan. However, when he opened the bedroom door, he was greeted with a surprising sight.

Niklaus slept, curled up on his side like a small child and it reminded Elijah of their human days back when they were all just innocent little children. But his head wasn't lying on a pillow, it was laying upon a certain red-haired girls lap. Lydia was leaning against the headboard, one of her hands was playing with Nik's hair, moving it in a calming motion while the other held up a book that she looked engrossed in.

When Lydia felt eyes on her, she turned her head to see Elijah and she sent him a small smile. The cherry headed girl slowly stood up from the bed, careful not to disturb Nik and she placed her book on the side. She moved the blanket so it covered Nik completely and tucked him in, kissing his forehead in a sisterly way. Lydia then moved around the bed to blow out the candles that were on his bedside table. Elijah watched every move the girl made, only noticing she was in one of Niklaus's shirts when she walked closer to him so they could leave.

"I hope you don't mind." Lydia's soft voice broke the silence. "I used some of your mothers' herbs to make a sleeping remedy for him, I knew it'd take forever to get him to sleep and I didn't want him to have any nightmares."

The pair walked down the stairs and into the kitchen as Lydia spoke, her words making Elijah look at her with worry.

"Is he okay?" Elijah asked, concern filling him for his brother.

"Yes, my remedy never fails." She said with a confident smile as she moved to make some coffee.

Elijah smiled at the girl in front of him, he tried his hardest to look at her face and not her bare legs which the shirt exposed but he failed, looking every now and again when she wasn't. The noble brother watched her movements, how she pulled out three cups and poured the coffee into them. With two, she also added some blood with the milk but with the other, she only added the milk. Lydia handed him one of the mugs with the blood in it and he smiled in thanks.

"Thank you." He took a sip.

Lydia looked down at her own cup for a moment and said, "it's no problem."

Just as she said that, two move vampires entered the room, heading straight for the fridge to get some blood bags. The female and the crazy Mikaelson finally looked their way and smiled at the two.

"Hello Dia, you stay the night?" Kol asked the redhead.

"Original nickname, Kol. I like it." She winked at him. "And to answer your question, yes, I stayed the night. I needed to make sure that Nik was okay."

"And is he?" Rebekah asked.

"Of course he is, I took care of him." Lydia said to her, almost offended they'd think any differently.

"Now, what are we going to do about mother and her plan?" Elijah asked the three in front of him.

"We kill her and our treacherous brother, obviously!" Kol said as if there was nothing else they could do.

"Hey!" Lydia yelled at him, making him and his two siblings look at her in shock. "We're not killing Finn. Not before he's had a true chance at life first. It isn't his fault, he's hated his existence for years and we just need to change his mind." She finished her thought thoughtfully, as if she was thinking but the siblings had no idea what about.

"Nobody can make him change his mind, Lyd. He's hated his life ever since we died and there's no changing that." Rebekah said to her.

"Maybe... Maybe not." She finished with a wistful look on her face and a smile, as if getting an idea which made the others confused.
