The halls were empty. No one, but the musical kids were in the school. Mr. Trainer was barking orders into the microphone, and no one was listening. Suddenly, the PA system went off, everyone became quiet as they listened to the disturbing message.
"The school is now in lock down. Don't panic-" the unsettled woman's sentence was cut short by a gut-wrenching scream over the school speakers.
Everyone began to panic despite being told not to. Keira and Talia, concerned and worried, went over to Mr. Trainer.
"Mr. Trainer what was that?" Talia asked him, her voice shaky.
"I don't know..." he looked away from her trying not to show how terrified he actually was.
He turned to where everyone was on the stage.
"Everyone calm down!" He tried to get their attention but they were all to freaked out.
"EVERYONE SHUT UP! LISTEN TO MR. TRAINER AND MR. BRAD!" Keira yelled, they then quickly quieted themselves.
"Thank you Keira... now, I don't know what that was but we need to stay calm. I'm going to go lock everything up." Mr. Trainer grabbed his keys then went to the doors.
"Text your parents let them know what's going on, but don't tell anyone where you are in the school." Mr. Brad directed the group of terrified children.
Everyone scurried to their bags and quickly began calling family. Mr. Trainer came back to where Keira, Talia, Brad, and now Becca, was.
"What do we do now?" Keira asked.
"We wait until the lock down is over," Mr. Trainer said, then continued to discuss the next course of action.
Their conversation was interrupted by banging on the doors. They all looked at each other scared. The room grounded to a halt, only a few ragged breaths being heard from the children.
Quietly, Mr. Brad spoke, "everyone get away from the doors"
Everyone huddled in front of the stage, some now crying. They stayed there and waited for twenty minutes before someone else spoke.
"I'm going to go see what that was..." Mr. Trainer set his keys down on the stage, went to the door, and slipped out and into the hall.
Everyone was on edge waiting for him to come back. They definitely weren't reassured when they heard another scream. Some people jumped.
"Was... was that him?" Talia asked.
Mr. Brad shook his head yes. Everyone began to panic, people began to run around. Some even ran out to the hall.
Keira grabbed Mr. Trainer's keys and took control.Relatively loud Keira explained, "This is what's going to happen. Eighth graders you are going to either help the younger kids get upstairs, or help me barricade those doors in the stairwell... does everyone understand?" She ordered.
Everyone moved quickly, Keira gave the keys to Becca so she could open the doors upstairs while she blocked the main doors. Keira kept watch while others barricaded, but a zombie bursted through the door that hadn't been done yet. It lunged toward Keira, but she dodged it. She quickly ran upstairs after people but looked back to see it scratch Sammy. Keira ran into the changing room and slammed the door shut.
"Somebody grab me stuff to block this door!" Keira yelled frantically over the sound of the monster pounding on the other side of the door.
Once the door was blocked the noise died down. Becca, Keira, and Brad went over to the corner to discuss things.
"Someone needs to go out and see what's going on..." Keira said.
"I know. But who?" Becca asked.
They turned to the huddle of kids on the other side of the room, then looked back at each other.
Keira, clearing her voice asked, "Who is willing to go down and see what's going on?" It was a long shot, but two people raised their hands.
