I opened my eyes and found myself in a place quite peculiar for me.
After observing the place, I figured out that I was in a forest-- a creepy one. There was a humongous white full moon beaconing over the silhouettes of trees, forming shapes that makes you visualize frightening images.
There was no other sounds rather than the mixtape of crickets chirping and owls croo-ing.
My heart thumped into a drum and I could feel my arms, legs, and neck suffering from a severe case of Goosebumps.
When I swayed to the left, a man was standing. The distance was too apart that I could only see his silhouette.
Like the trees, his silhouette sent chills through my spine.
I motioned to move, to run away... But my feet were glued to the dry ground. It was so dry, cracks had begun to form.
I looked over at the silhouetted man again, realized he was closer than before. He paced slowly and gracefully towards me.
Sweats were now trickling down my forehead. My breath was now louder, constant, and heavier. Right now I could feel tears forming at the corners of my eyes.
I looked away from him, bent down to reach for my feet to try to haul it to move. It wouldn't budge. Not even a little.
The cricket chirps started diminishing and what replaced it was my heart beating like bongos.
This time, my tears already flowed, melding itself with the sweat.
I didn't want to look back but as if a hand was tilting my chin forcibly to turn my head around.
There he was, already closer, allowing me to hear his footsteps. I tried to shift my attention back to my glued feet. I sat on my knees to exert more force.
"Magenta," there was a whisper. I ignored it and kept pulling my feet to move.
"Magenta," the whisper reiterated. I was panting and panting, still ignoring the voice.
It called out for my name again.
The urge of wanting to give up, I slowly raised my chin up. My jaw dropped open as I saw the silhouetted man standing in front me, an inch apart. His face was black yet his eyes were glowing golden yellow with a pupil sharp like of a cat's pupil.
He reached out his hand down to me. As he did, something was growing out of his back-- wings... Large black wings flailing in mid-air.
My eyes narrowed in fright. I wanted to scream.
And the moment I did...
