"I think Whisper wants to watch."

"Do you want to watch Miss Mysterious?"

CHAPTER 33

The fight between the two vampires was loud and terrifying.  Anything that wasn't smashed before, splintered and crashed.  Wills grip on her wrist stopped her from charging in with the dagger and she gave him a slight silent nod of understanding.

Will looked bad, really bad.  His injuries were numerous and ugly, and she just wanted to fold him into her arms—A loud crash took her eyes back to the fight.

Her eyes left Ashton and the other smaller vampire only to watch as Will darted across the room and retrieved something from beneath a cabinet.  A few of the guys on the floor had begun to stir, and Will gave one of them a shove back to the linoleum with a Nike clad foot.  She slid her eyes around the room finding the rest of them sitting up to some degree, and fearfully, she searched out the guns, on of which had been hard against her temple, finding them on the floor by the fight.

Will had the same idea, and with a quick familiarity, he pulled the clips, checked the barrels, and carefully handed the weapons over to Jane, all the while holding the silver shooter between his arm and chest.

Ashton maneuvered the smaller vampire against the wall, then suddenly froze, stepping back as he did so.  The room grew quiet with the lack of struggling and each of them remained in silent shock as they took in his opponent.

“Cassie?”  Allisa was the first to find her tongue and when her feet with a will of their own, began to carry her closer, Will laid a hand on her shoulder stopping her once again.

Blood smeared the female vampire's face from wounds that must have already healed on one of the two of them, and she wiped at it with her hand.  Labored breathing had her chest heaving, and she glared around the room seeming to encompass the M.O.V.E. Members in her rage.

“You imbeciles.  I told you to leave this one be!”

“It wasn't a planned thing.  It just kind of happened.”  A guy in a college hoodie braved a reply and the further wrath of the vampire.

“I'm listening.”  Cassie crossed her arms to her front, and moved around Ashton to stand above the uncomfortable guy.

          “Tell her Rodney.”

          “Naw, you go ahead.”

The back door burst open, and Russell ran into the room, then stopped dead in his tracks taking in everything.

“Not a good response time.”  Cassie observed, and the young man looked to her making some excuse about sleeping too hard to hear the phone, but she had already dismissed him, her attention once again on the man at her feet.  “Continue please.”

“Will Gillis stopped by and--”  Getting to his feet, the man stood a few inches taller, as if that could help him if she decided to get physical.  “And well everything just happened from there.”

Cassie's look bounced to Will, and like so many vampires with their learned traits, she decided not to bother with an expression, or even an eye movement as she took in his battered state.    The atmosphere around her however was heavy with her disdain of the ridiculous explanation.  “Elaborate please.”

The request was met with silence, none volunteered the information she wanted, possibly because the information would not have redeemed them.   Whipping around once more, she approached Will, and if the entire scene unfolding were not so weird, Allisa would have laughed at her boyfriends face, as Cassandra eased her hand over his chest and stomach.
