"Well that was the most awkward dinner I've had to go through," Mei stated once everyone minus Gaius was out of earshot of the dining room. She glanced from the two guys then to her friends then back at the guys, "Would it be alright if my friends and I hung out in Raine's room for a while before we head to sleep?" she asked, silently hoping both boys would agree. She may have free range as Diana put it, but it wouldn't hurt to ask...
"Well, I don't know..." Atticus nervously looking between his brother, and behind him, "Gaius might disapprove..."
"Who cares what Hot Head thinks?" Faustus asked, looking at the ceiling with his hands in his pockets.
Raine raised her hand slightly, speaking quietly, "I, for one, would prefer to live."
"I have a foolproof idea to keep us all safe," Mei said, "but it involves giving Diana a TONNE of shoes."
"I can get those," Faustus said, "Just keep it down. I plan to sleep upside-down tonight," he yawned, and stretched, "Gaius won't be out for a while, I'd imagine."
"Don't worry Atti, we'll be safe," Raine smiled reassuringly at the uncertain boy.
He nodded slightly, "Y-yeah. I'll be right next door... If you need me."
"It's settled then! Come on girls!" Diana exclaimed, walking down the hallway.
Once alone in Raine's room, which was as elegantly decorated as the rooms occupied by the other girls, Mei flopped down on the bed, "That lady is SCARY!"
"You got that right," Raine sighed, "and it only makes it worse that she tries to hide it by acting so nice all the time..."
"Do you think wooden stilettos would work the same way as stakes...?" Diana mused.
"You aren't planning on killing all of them are you?" Raine asked worriedly.
"Do I sense a crush on a certain fluffy blue-haired boy?" Mei teased, a grin spreading over her face.
"What? No! I don't think any of them deserve to be killed! We just met, Mei! My goodness! I do have a brain!" Raine exclaimed, a light blush dusting her cheeks. Atticus was nice, but she absolutely didn't have a crush on him! She only held his hand because he needed emotional support!... And she kinda sorta did too... around scary people.
"Uhhuh...," Diana seemed unconvinced.
"Seriously!" Raine put her face in her hand, putting her other hand behind her against the wall. She just so happened to touch a painting, and as she turned around, she noticed that it was of two young children, both smiling widely, their pointed teeth showing, a boy with tousled light blue hair, and a girl with long, straight, green hair, in a bright pink dress with lollipops on the skirt.
"I wonder who that could be..." the blonde mused, running her hand over the image.
Mei walked over to see what her friend was looking at, "He was adorable. Your kids are going to be the cutest things ever."
Raine's face turned scarlet as she pulled her hand quickly away from the wall, "W-we don't know that that's him!"
"Whatever," Diana chimed in, "He IS a pretty cute dork."
"He's not a dork! He's just shy," Raine defended, "What about Faustus and Gaius? what are they like?" she asked, attempting to change the subject.
"Faustus isn't terribly interesting, but at least he's not a stupid possessive redhead," Mei huffed.
"Uh... yeah..." Diana said quietly, "though I'm rather surprised the stupid possessive redhead hasn't bitten me yet..."
"Yeah, he did say he was gonna bite you earlier, didn't he?" Mei frowned.
