I stood in the doorway, half my body in, half out. Ryder stared at me in confusion, and raised his eyebrow. Nothing will stop. I feel safe with Ryder, but why is it every time I'm with him bad things always happen. I looked down at my bag that is still by the door, and picked it up, placing it on my back. I looked at Ryder, and just stared at him. He kept talking to me asking what's wrong, and if I'm okay. I ignored him. Should I answer him? Should I tell him what just happened?
I turned around having my back facing him. He called out my name, but I took the chance to run. I ran from his house and down the driveway. He yelled my name from inside his house, but I didn't look back. I kept running.
Once again I'm in the position of having no where to go. With a dead mother, ex lover, and two non existent best friends, what am I suppose to do. I stopped after ten minutes. My breathing sharp, and my chest falling up and down. Panting sounds escaped my mouth. I doubled over and threw up on the side of the grass. I placed my hands above my knees, still bending over.
"Are you okay?" I heard a voice ask. I looked up to see a guy standing there. I rolled my eyes, and stood up. Can I stop being around guys.
"I'm fine." I said walking past him.
"Your phone." I turned around to look at him holding my phone out to me. I walked back to him and grabbed it, nodding.
"Thank you would be nice."
"Thank you." I called out.
I began walking again. I heard footsteps pattering behind me. I turned to see the dude jogging up.
"Look-" he began, but I interrupted him.
"Save it. I'm tired of coming in contact with guys. When I do, it doesn't end well. So please, leave me alone." I said sternly to him.
"Whoa, I was just going to, you know what, never mind, forget you." He said throwing his hands up in the air.
"What do you mean 'forget you'?" I challenged.
"Seems like your life isn't all sunshine and rainbows, but by the way you look, with red puffy eyes, you threw up, you look a mess, and no offense, stink, you seem like you could use someone to talk to. But I'm sorry for trying to be nice." I pondered at what he said. He is right. My life isn't sunshine and rainbows. I started to cry while I was running because of Mason and Ryder. It seems like I can't have anything for myself. I haven't showered in three days, and I have no one in my life anymore. I guess you could say I have Ryder, but I can't be around him anymore, everything bad happens when I'm with him.
"Let's go sit at the park and talk. I'll buy you food and clothes after." He said giving me a sympathetic smile.
"Okay." I let out softly.
The guy and I started walking to the park. We both stayed silent. Cars drove by every now and then, giving the only sign of life in this part of town. I took this time to take in the guy before me. He isn't much taller than me, and he has a little muscle on his arms. He had a fade on both sides of his head, while the rest of his hair sat short, but softly on top of his head. His eyes were a light brown, and he looked as if he's Hispanic. His skin color was tan, but not too tan as if he was in the sun to long.
We made it to the park another ten minutes later, and we went over and sat on the swings. There were two other little children running around and playing, a boy and a girl. Off to the side sat two women chatting away. They must be family, or just good friends. I rocked myself back and forth on the swing with my foot.
"So what's your name?" The guy asked breaking the silence.
"Casey." I responded.
"That's cool." He said trying to make it seem as if I said something interesting.
