The Mind of a Kactus

Entry #2

Hey....

Okay, so, I was on Pinterest like literally two minutes ago and I was just looking at different writing prompts. They were all legitimately really cool and creative prompts. Honestly, that all I wanted to write but I guess I should try to figure out what else I should write about.

So, I had a project in my World History class that my group presented yesterday. It was a PowerPoint presentation on a "Circle of Hell" from Dante's Inferno. My group was assigned the second circle, "Lust", but I just started the project on Monday night with it due in 3rd period the next day. So I, being the person that I am, volunteered to do a lot of work for the group. When I started working on it, I realized that one of my other group mates didn't do her slide correctly, so I wrote like three whole paragraphs on her slide and then decided that I would just do the rest of the project in the morning. Turns out, I barely had time to do any of it once I arrived at school. So I took pictures of someone else's presentation to make my job easier. In French class, which is 2nd period for me, we were watching Shrek for an assignment. Instead of watching said movie, I spent the entire class writing out three passages about the second circle and what literary devices were use in said passage. Luckily, I finished the project two minutes before the bell. Once third period started, the teacher gave us about seven minutes to get with our groups and polish everything. I expressed to my fellow group members that the passage parts were extremely rushed and that points may be taken off because of it. They said it was okay and that they weren't expecting to get a perfect score. Our presentation went fairly well and everyone seemed to understand everything we were saying, so that's good. We got our scores back today and it turns out that my group earned a 30/30. It certainly wasn't anything that we expected.

The weather here is super bipolar. One minute its a blizzard, the next it feels like spring, and now the rivers around here are beginning to get really high from the amount of rain we have been having these past few days. All of this has happened in about a weeks time as well. It sucks in all honesty. The gloomy weather makes everyone sluggish and in bad moods. Even I am being affected by it. I'm generally a perky person, but because of the weather, I am like the complete opposite of my usual self. It could also just be because of the stuff that goes through my head, but who knows?

So, that's my rant for today. Yeah... I can definitely say that writing this was a lot smoother than the first entry.
