Due to Alices vision we knew the Volturi would arrive shortly after the snow started to stick. I didn't care and tended to frolic in the snow or work on my crafting. I would sell pieces at fairs before under the guise of being part of the old Ravenwood merchant company. It was how we managed to blend in if we traveled places. I knew the little girl would watch me as would Edward. He was more annoyed because my metalcraft blocked his mind reading ability. Something only Bella seemed to be able to do. Although I did discover that one of my pieces caused her shield to move away so she felt the pain of the shock when she was practicing. I earned a glare from the cullens even though Erasmus smirked at me. He knew why I had crafted such a piece. For Bella to get stronger she not only had to see her loved ones in pain but had to experience that pain for herself. How else would she be able to with her shield in place? I had simply made a plain copper band that was imbued to break through a small portion of her shield. Nothing fancy because I knew as soon as they realized what the piece did it would be thrown far away or given back to be melted down and reformed.
